I'm on the Highway to Hell
for sure if I don't change my ways!!!
First I want to give a shout out to my blog buddies Jef and B2K... I have had people say they read my comments just to see what you guys write....
sa -lute!
Second, check out the link to "AC my son's friend" on the links menu..
Now, I want to talk about NC.. We all know I just moved here... I am sorta catching on to the twang...I am gonna post the rules as I learn them.
Today's rule... if you thought your name ended with an "a" you are wrong.
Example: Rebecca = Rebeccer
Your name really ends in an "er" Now gonna use that observation in a sentence..
I recently moved to North Caroliner.
OH OH and I bet you thought a whale was a mammal..and one syllable.. oh no contrare
sentence
Wha-ale, I am glad you moved to North Caroliner!
Deep thought for this week:
I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in the crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, "What was THAT?!"

Torture Me
Hey to all, Thanks for all the comments on my tattoo! I want meet Etienne! lol
I am looking forward to getting it!
I am however constantly amazed at all the places people get peirced and things for your peircings. Did you know they have vibrating tongue rings? OMG!!!
I have started walking again and tonight used the company gym. I did 15 minutes on some kind of machine that I am sure a sadist invented and i won't be able to walk tomorrow!
I also hit the free weights and the treadmill. Damn good thing the weights were free! cruel bastards! I have never been big in working out but used to do it more often. Getting back into some of that.
going for now!

Life is a bowl of Cherries
I read this on an online news article:
Native American folklore says that the first question we ask upon dying is, "Why was I so serious?"
Life today is full of reasons to scowl, frown, sputter and fume, but you know what? That's just plain defeatism and it only makes you look and feel old. Find things that make you laugh and surround yourself with them.
Set laughter goals: laughing to tears daily; falling-down, rolling, pants-wetting hilarity once a week perhaps. Laughter is your tether to youth, an instant facelift, and the purest appreciation for what a cool ride this really is.
Again I say, Life is short, live it to the fullest. Do what makes you happy. I try to laugh about something every day, and for me I can laugh at myself a lot!

Deep Thoughts
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."
and if you know me you know it is something I would do!
I like kids, when they are someone else's. there was a time in my life i wanted more kids. that time is not now. been there, done that, read the book. Now small children are OK when they are in their place. mcdonalds, the park, etc... not next to me in a adult restaurant. Especially when they have liberal parents. I was in outback one night with one of my girl friends and a older couple was seated next to us with a young child. about 6 i guess.. they obviously had this child late in life as they were not young. at all. this spawn of satan proceeded to ruin my dinner and that of the partron's seated around me. he yelled, threw colors, screamed at the top of his lungs because he wanted something to eat that this place didn't have. it was so bad the waiters and waitresses where coming out of the kitchen to see what could cause such a commotion. finally dad drug him to the bathroom, with a not so sincere threat of a "spanking". the satan child knocked the salt, pepper and sugar off the table while looking at mom going "mom, mom, what are you going to do about this?" dad drags him off. we can hear them in the bathroom...damn..the manager comes over and offers to move us, but it is crowded, i have my food so we decide not to move. after their food comes, they finally come out of the bathroom. dad looks worse for wear than the, dare I call it this, child. major pout on his face and dad is pushing him along the way to the table. remember i said he knocked that stuff off the table? well somewhere along the way he lost his shoes and he stepped on a sweet and low packet with only his socks on.. horrors!!!
I hear "ouch, ouch that hurt" and he looks at me with evil satan eyes. I look right back, put on my "i am a bitch don't fuck with me buddy" look and said "I eat small children" with a growl and thru my clenched teeth. I think I scared him more than dad did! About freaking time. And if I had let the manager move me I wouldn't have gotten the pleasure of giving that child a nightmare!

what!!!!no sex in the city????
Sex and the city has been something I have looked forward to and even planned around for the last several years. I have lived vicariously through Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. haven't some of you? Now it is coming to an end, what is the world coming to? my friends and I have compared ourselves to them, sort of a which one are you, what would you do kind of thing. Charlotte, uptight uptown girl. Miranda, neurotic and sarcastic funny. Samantha, well what can you say about samantha! head stong and sex driven! Carrie, incurable romantic addicted to shoes. I guess if I had to pick I would say I am a version of Carrie, even if i have the hair of miranda. I am neither neurotic, nor headstrong lol Although I would rather make my living with photography than journalism. It was also funny how many times that week's show hit home for one or all of us.
So what are you hoping for, in the spectacular ending? Will carrie stay in paris with the russian or will she succumb to mr. big? I myself hope carrie goes with mr. big. Samantha has her young stud and is happy. miranda and steve have re-united and married. Charlotte is getting babies of the puppy kind...so what better fairy tale ending could there be? and what would be wrong with a fairy tale ending, huh??
Now what do we have to choose from? reality TV? The bachelorette? next top model? the surreal life? Celebrity mole? or worse even the littlest bachelor? (now that show calls for a definite WTF!!!)
All I can hope for is to buy it on DVD from season 1... I know, I need to get a life!

a moment of waxing poetic
I woke up to snow this morning.
Not a heavy snow. light small flakes. snow always reminds me of things fresh and new. As I gaze out the window and daydream a bit, you just can't help but think all things are right with the world. at least for a short, peaceful few minutes.
for now I am enjoying the cold weather. next year i may hate it, but now it is nice to have some change in the weather. a little cold. i have missed that.
wax on, wax off
back to reality now!

Over the river and thru the woods
My sister came to visit! It was a rather spur of the moment thing. She drove up friday last night. we both needed it in our own ways. She needed to get away from all her issues at home and I needed adult companionship and a break from work stuff. I work to much. this i know, but it is just in me to do that and i don't know what to do about it....I am working on it but anyway.....
Saturday we went to G'boro to do some of my errands. My sister makes me laugh....read her blog...then understand earlier in the day when I told her I wanted to go to priscillas, she was like "is it a sex shop?"
I was like "i don't know haven't been there before and what do you mean by sex shop?"
She said, "You know, do they sell toys?"
Me, "I am not sure."
She " Cause I could sure use one of those!"
Then we get there, they do sell toys and she is all embarrased cause she is with me....lmao
But a good day was had by all. Oh and my shopping list was for things in the house, reguardless of what my sister says!!!lol. I bought glasses and silverware. Couldn't find a bathroom shower curtian to suit moi, nor dishes....
Today we planned on taking in a movie, but thanks to the weather, that didn't happen...calling for 3 - 5 inches of snow..
So she left early and I made stew (yummmm) and burned CDs...

hear me singing....i'm alright, i'm alright - it only hurts when i breathe...
i love melissa ethridge
which reminds me of a time when my son was younger. he was with his dad and step mom in small town america. I get a call...
son "mom L (the stepmom) took away my melissa etheridge cd!"
me "why on earth would she do that?"
son "she said melissa is a lesbian and i can't listen to that it might influence me."
This is hilarious, two fold:
One that my son, obviuosly male, could be influenced to be a lesbian...
Two if you where a lesbian you would like women and not just for their "fashion sense"
OK, laughing my ass of at small town small mindedness. But wait, i just said i love melissa etheridge, omg i must be a lesbian!!!
LMAO

re-organizing this page
I could call it under construction, but it is already constructed. I could call it remodeling, but everyone is remodeling something these days, their house, their image, their body... so i pick reorganizing as I have had lot's of practice at that at my job. We re-org, don't give it time to take effect, then re-org again!

Oh the powers of Chocolate
... found this online...I always thought it just raised your endorphins and made you happy!! ha ha..
Dark chocolate is the chocolate of choice. "Milk chocolate is for kids. Dark chocolate is for lovers," says Weinstein, who explains that dark chocolate has a higher percentage of cocoa, which means it has more phenylethylamine, a chemical that mimics the feeling you have when you're in love. wonder if they really know what it does?
and this is toooo funny! Hope you have sound!

is this the truth or is it fiction?
you decide
When I was young my mom and step dad used to roll their own cigarettes. this was a special, relaxing time for them. I always knew when they where going to. They would head into the living room and out would come the Iron Butterfly album. Mom would call me in and tell me I needed to go get my sister and we needed to "play nicely, it was quiet time for the adults". (play nicely? Maybe she was remembering when I knocked my sister off the barstool, but that is another story.) My sister and I would settle in playing Barbies somewhere. In the background I could hear "ina-godda-da-vita baby.... don't you know that I luh-uh-uh-uv you" Mom and her man would always be in such a good mood after a while! Do you know how long it took to to realize that they where smoking marijuana, wacky weed, grass!!!!!????
now fast forward to many years later...
Mom was claustrophobic and had to have a MRI. she was especially nervous and wanted her 2 daughters to go with her and be with her. naturally we agreed. Pre-mri time we are in the hall outside the mri room waiting our turn. the waiting seemed to make it worse on mom. so my sister and i decided to entertain her. we starting singing "ina-godda-da-vita" to her making the bass noises, playing a little air guitar and all. then we added a little dance.. all the while mom going "shut up, shut up, your embarrasing me!" we just looked at her and said "got your mind off it didn't we!". we ended up embarrasing ourselves in the mri room. ever been in one with that thing running? damn it's loud! in there we started making up songs to the beat of the thumping. little did we know all the techs in the glassed in room could hear us... oh well!!!
and by the way seaster... that is my dawn doll!!!! lol

my brain wheels need a greasin'
WOW, this week has been busy, work at work, take work home and work! I have done that 3 nights this week. I will not do this forever!!! So needless to say I am brain dead ..
I need a fun break!
I did see a report on Primtime last night that rather disturbed me, will talk about that later..
only inspiration I have today is a deep thought
deep thought
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

one day my prince will come
he has to be computer literate!! (joking)
actually one day I will figure out how to make my blog 3 columns. but until then I will post these here randomly
Deep thoughts
Wouldn't it be cool if you could buy a voodoo globe so that you could make the world spin real fast and freak everybody out?
and
I think a good gift for the President would be a chocolate revolver. and since he is so busy, you'd probably have to run up to him real quick and give it to him.
are you laughing yet?
If not, you either 1) are thinking to much about your work or issues
2) don't have a sense of humor... so get one! lol
I lmao last night about these...but then I am warped!!!

I'm gonna get you naked by the end of this song
Seems the big news today about the superbowl was not the game or how close it was but that janet jackson's boob got exposed. I myself missed it, don't ask me how as I was sitting here, or if I care, but I got sent and or directed to many pics about it today. the big delimma is was it staged or not. take at look at this pic, click here, and tell me if you think it was staged or not. If i had seen it, would I have run from the room screaming "a boob, i have been blinded and i am going to hell"?
If it wasn't staged would you have something on your nip? I don't think so.
if your nips are covered are they really "exposed"? some strippers at some strip joints have to wear pasties.
just what the hell is that on her boob anyway? some sort of silver sunburst torture thingy?
and is it me or does her boob look awfully white in that pic..hummm, just a whiter shade of pale - re brother Michael Jackson. my apologies to Procol Harum.
well she paid enough for em, might as well show em.
and omg i am sooo excited! P diddy and fifty cent can do magic! they can sing with out moving their mouths! insert redhead sarcasm here. I myself was offended by the lipsyncing. or shall we say lack of.. At an event of this magnitude, wouldn't you think the performers would "do it live"? oh wait, maybe they really can't sing...it's all a farce...got it! If I had paid what it cost to go to the superbowl and have good seats, I would be pissed!!!!

and the beat goes on
OK what was your favorite add? I liked 2 especially..
The first one was on early and had the coach yelling at his team ruthlessly..question was, how did he get this way..
next scene it showed his wife yelling at him about bills, the house, the car etc...
The scond was the bud light commercial with the dogs. One well bred dog fetched the beer out of the cooler, his owner all cocky...asked the second guy what his scruffy dog could do...I lmao!!!

i am an unpacking fool!
yes.....
I am both unpacking
and a fool! lol
made a major dent. why is it easier to unpack that pack? i don't get that..
I have to add to my walmart adventures. the one I went to the other day, land o' the unisex mullet, was in a (very) close neighboring town. so close it might as well be the same town. anyway today I went to the "official" assboro wally world. I did see more mullets there, BUT...
I was standing in line behind a young couple with 3 kids. a set of twin girls and a son. the girls where good, at least at that moment, but the boy would be a good advertisement for birth control... i have a very low tolerance of small screaming children......remind me to tell you about the screaming kid i encountered in outback one night...
anyway, I was being friendly (as everyone here is friendly) and the young couple and I where visiting while standing in line. I noticed they were purchasing a set of walkie talkies. S had purchased her a set before our move to assboro and we used them on the drive up. S refuses to come into the 21st century and get a cell phone.. so, I was telling them how well they worked, blah blah... and then the female laughed.....OMG....her teeth.....ouch...I tried not to get one of those surprised looks on my face....and don't get me wrong, I am not someone who judges people...they were really nice...but her teeth hurt me..... or shall i say the lack of teeth. obviously he must like it.. and that is as far as I am going with that one...
I was dial switching last night and came across one of the local stations that is all ads for local clubs and events. I was like cool, let's see what is out there.
looking to join a church? Asheboro african episcopal church...
have a problem? is it related to drugs? come to blah blah baptist church and we will help you..
mom's day out, sponsored my blah blah methodist, children welcome...what????
you get the drift
only non church related ad was one for a chess club...yeah right..... I am gonna run to check that one out..NOT

God gave me this perm
That is my standard answer to the few people who see my hair in it's natural state. My hair is very curly...and red. When they see me, I always get.."oh! were did you get that perm?"
insert my title here
then it's "well i would gladly pay good money for that!"
well I would pay good money not to have it so curly...
think I am gonna grow it out again though. Now that I am in a not so humid climate, it will be easier to take care of. and it is less curly when it gets longer.
I was born bald. bald till I was 2. Old wives tale says if you are born bald your hair will be curly. ta-da!
Mom used to tape bows on my head. She said even when she dressed me in a dress, a pink dress even, someone(s) would always say "oh what a cute little boy!" I think that was the start to all my complexes!!! lol!!!! and I was in high school in the 70's...era of stick straight hair. I chemically straightened it once.. it lasted one day.
I want to be PC here, so I hope no one takes this wrong but...someone in my family history had to be "of color"...had to be.
Listening to Justin Timberlake - Justified shhhhhhh don't tell anyone

Well I am here. Saw a ton of trees down thru South Carolina...tried to make a pit stop but no one had power!
My belongings got unloaded yesterday and I actually can get around in my new place...click on link and check out thesnow!.... Issue: My Living room furniture is to big for my living room....hummm what to do?
My office (2nd BR) is a wreck, but hey, i can close the door. I missed my cable installation appt due to the weather, now they can't come until tomorrow, bumming a dial up (eeewww) from sue...i am such a loser!!! But I have become so internet dependant! Shopping, bill paying, research, etc...
Made it in to work today. Will be working sporaticly today and tomorrow. My office here is cold..thinking of typing in gloves...but that's OK I am not complaining!
I am confused though. I am supposed to be in an AT&T area...new area...but my cell is on roam. Good thing it is my work cell! Friends and family you know the number, I will have it for a week or 2....
listening to my radio while I dial random stations trying to find a new listening channel of choice......

Neither rain, snow or black of night.....
OK but ice will keep me from delivering the mail...oops.. I mean getting to where I want to go. lol. hey this is par for me and the saying "if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all" is true for me. (did you hear the gang on Hee haw singing when i said that? I did!)
When I moved to Florida, I got held up in Tallahasee for an extra day due to a hurricane.
Now today:
1) The mover lady called on my cell today and said the moving truck was stuck somewhere near Atlanta due to ice and road closures. they hope to be at the office in assboro tomorrow.
2) We hit a wreck on 75 in Florida and it took us over 1 hour to go 3 miles.
3) It is icing in South Carolina, which is where I go next on my continuing trek north.
4) they keep extending the bad weather forcast. They need to stop it!
At least I have a bed tonight, here in Nowhereville, Georgia and this is a really good thing as I like to sleep on my stomach and the floor for the past few days has been hard on....well ......my chest. My boobs will be thanking me. This hoppin' joint has free hbo, local calls and dial up!!! OMG do you know how long it has been since I have had to use dial up? I might even get the pleasure of 2 nights here thanks to the weather!

Shhhhhhh -be vewy vewy qwuiet! -
or I drank.... I smoked
Planning for this night 3 of my friends and I got a room at the Pink Shell on the beach.. good thing we did!
First we went to Parrot Key. All of us wondered why we hadn't dicovered this place sooner. It was a cold night for Florida and this was an outdoor bar. BUT they had outdoor heaters. It was great! Plan was to start there, have a few drinks then move on to the putt putt course, but that was not to be. Good times where being had by all, and Stoli's was on happy hour, yeah for me! so needless to say we didn't leave for a while. I shocked a few when i bummed a cig. but hey, i do what i can!
as usual, people straggled in bit by bit, and I was anxiously awaiting A and her mans arrival as she is my shot partner. My friend Ivette from Miami came over and had an interesting trip over, she didn't get there till 10, but by then the party was just beginning. Parrot Key closed at 11, we thought that was a little strange. After closing that place we moved on down to the beach. We got checked into the hotel and piled into 1 car. Off to the Top O'mast we went. We had heard this was a happenin' joint. Well it wasn't so "happenin" but we still had a blast. My friend P and I had set a goal earlier in the day to see who could get the drunkest. So off we start. Oh and let me say I had a head start on her as she didn't arrive until right before ivette. Rum Runners were the drink of choice and you got to keep the glass! as i drink i sing. my friends tell me i really can sing. i won't sing around you though unless a) i have known you a while or b) I drink....
We where all girls except for a's boyfriend and I think we finally succeeded in embarrassing him with our conversation and tales of things we had done in the past. (not expounding on that here, but i am sure you have a good imagination).
Not sure, but I think I had 4 rum runners. I succeeded in getting drunk and so did p, and everyone else. we laughed our arses off. (literally) Good thing both P and I are happy drunks! We closed that joint also. i am sure P and I where funny to watch but that night I thought we were doing rather well. we crawled back into the car for the short drive down the beach to the hotel via a stop at the 7-11. imagine, they wouldn't sell us anymore liquor as it was after 2AM...what gives with that?? The walk to the hotel from the parking lot was crooked. I could have swore the sidewalk was straight when we arrived! P and I ended up on the bathroom floor for some reason, laughing all the way. eventually we made it to bed.
Needless to say P and myself have headeaches today and for some reason everyone keeps yelling when they are talking to me!! go figure....but i have 2 great glasses to remember it all by.
Good friends, good times, a great story to tell about my last day. I am going to miss my friends.. gotta go get busy so i don't dwell on that tonight..

- I am addicted - computer voyeurism
Who would have ever thunk it. me a computer nerd. when i was in high school i hated typing. i was just a wee bit rebellious through out my high school years and relating to this particular story, i refused to try in typing class. here is why... my stepmom said, "all girls should learn to type, a secretary is a good career to fall back on" the wall went up for me. i didn't want to be like everyone else (remember i am a child of the 60's). i was going to make great strides in the world, not be someone's lackey! i wanted my own lackey! so to put it mildly, I sucked in typing. i didn't try. ya think maybe i am a little hard headed?? who would have ever thought I would spend this much time at work and at home on a computer...typing. go figure.
Now I put my personal life out there (to some degree) for all to see and i enjoy reading and keeping up with other people. Why is that so addicting? I don't know these people. but every morning, while having my first cup o joe, i catch up on those blogs of whom i read. samplings: b2k's partner's grandmother fell and is in the hospital, he sings Karaoke, and is a teacher. Belle de jour is a london call girl with a witty/sarcastic sense of humor. She tells us Anal is the new black, describes nicely what some of her "meetings" are like, how hard it is to have a boyfriend and be in the business ..... well i think you get the picture. it's all little "peep shows" into their lives and mine.
maybe we are all closet voyeurs.

well it's official
I am semi homeless. OK fully furniture-less... but not electronic-less. i have my tv/vcr combo, my cable/internet, and DVD, my computer....hey, i have my priorities right! wait.... stop.... i want to back out of the move to assboro...not!!.
i am moving all of my stuff into one room and making it all nice and neat. things have been so cluttered for so long..shouldn't be hard to do that, nor take long to do that..ha ha
I did find my Delta credit.. good for me!!!. got $250 to $300 or something like that. only gotta use it, or lose by March 6th. I am not sure but I think as long as I have booked something by that date i am OK..
mental note to self.....call and find out
anyway, I Took a flight on Delta and can not explain to you how many things went wrong, and their excuses where even better.. made me feel safe......not!. hear the overhead "this is your captian speaking, we currently are trying to repair our problem. we think if we beat on it with a screwdriver it will fix. We will keepyou posted." Warm fuzzy for me how about you? I was nice, I didn't bitch and waited out the 12 our wait until we finally got to take off....and waaa laaa I got a letter and a credit in the mail. Guess that was a small price for Delta to pay. coulda been worse if we had crashed. and the letter is personally stamped also! ohhhhhhh
So, I better get to planning! I will NOT lose it! raise of hands of who wants a visitor! lol
the cats are freaking a little now. not used to an empty house. hummm think they know something is up? they were all running around smelling the floor and such. That has apparently exhausted them as they are all napping now.
still haven't found a home for rascal. this could be interesting!
listening to my clock radio....hey it is electronics!!!

Miami
what can I say. A whole different breed of people. Wouldn't want to live there.
I got a check.. woo hoo. But not till after I was told I would just have to wait on the one they sent me that didn't show up.
yeah, whatever..I left with a check.
Had a great visit with I. She wants to start planning anothers girls weekend. Last year we went to Montana. We have open options (who knows where), possible Japan, possible Russia. Possible England. I one day want to go to Ireland since I am a quarter Irish. ( I am also a quarter English, and the rest is a little of this, a little of that.)
Anyway, we had a blast in Montana. To long for this post but good for another one....
I cooked Sunday. I don't do that much anymore. No fun to cook for one and I work to much...soo
Our Corporate office has moved. we have the top 2 floors of a fairly new building in the Gables outside Miami. Swank. Our stock sucks though... guess someone has their priorities set...a weeee bit off.
Training went OK. Basicly a refresher course. Only thing is we where "refreshed" by an IT programmer who doesn't use the system daily. He just didn't get some of our questions. Oh well.
Listening to the TV on some random station...

I am packed as packed can be. Will probably have the usual last minute things on Monday night and Tuesday night, but hey..
So I celebrated last night with good music, a drink and a long soak in the tub while pondering lifes mysteries. (While wishing I either had a big old claw foot tub or a garden tub). I pondered a while and didn't solve any of them! lol.
Once the movers come and go, I can give the house a good cleaning and relax. All my friends are like, where you going to sleep? my reply "On the floor."
They are taken aback. They all say one version or the other of "Oh you can't do that, come stay with me." What they never went camping? What is so wrong with that?
My paycheck didn't come. Imagine. First thing Monday I will be talking to payroll.
I am leaving in a few to head to Miami. I have training for my new job on Monday at our Corp office. Gonna spend the night with one of my friends from there. She has a great house. Good food, a little wine...great conversation! Can't wait.
Not looking forward to the drive back on Monday evening. At least till I get out of Miami. Miami trafiic is the PITS! But hey once out of town it is a breeze. Just boring. Ever drove across alligator alley? Lot's of birds and gators to see, but that is it and Monday it will be dark or getting dark as I head back.
Listening to VH1 top 20 countdown. and the rain......

Lunch with the new boss was pretty cool. He doesn't have a cable background. Maybe that is why he seems so nice..ha ha.
He couldn't really tell me what he wanted me to do yet. We discussed a few things and came to this conclusion...at my request....When he wants me to do something he will tell me, when I screw up, he will tell me.
My check is supposed to be in the mail. Haven't we all heard that! lol Fed Ex Priority Overnight...So we will see..
My goal is to finish packing today. At least as far as I can get seeing as I will b here a few days after the movers. So going back to that now!
Later!

Today I get to go to lunch with my new boss. He has been down for the week, and might be back next week. I am a little scared, he seems nice, hope it isn't a facade, or wear off! But I am going to think positive!!
I am not to happy right now though. This is my first check since I started with the new office. Well I guess I should say this should be my first check. The bank begs to differ. So right now I am not a happy a camper. I will however try to avoid that conversation at lunch. He is new also and this isn't his fault.
well I guess I should go back to work. not really in the mood though for some reason....hmmmm
Think I will look at my slides I got last night instead!
listening to... my group play what if....
1) you where stranded on an island
2) you won the lotto
etc

Did you know pack is a four letter word! wanna really piss me off? Say it to me! Just don't say it close to me, I will retaliate! I packed all day Saturday, kitchen, bathroom, office, living room attic..... And I love Christmas, but Sunday as I pulled the lights off the house I kept asking myself, what in the hell where you thinking? I actually got a lot done these last 2 days, but I need a reprieve, a break. Don't think it is going to happen... and still more to do...OMG
So I stopped. I turned on the game (Phillies vs. Packers if you haven't a clue) and watched it and then sex in the city. What a combo huh! The game was good although I would rather see sports live. Give me a good ball game, or drag races! Nothing like it. I would go to the drag races any day of the week! That and the Mud Drags....That is when the real redneck in me comes out I guess. What I like about those are the people, I love to watch how people react with the game and each other. Best football game I ever went to was Dallas vs Cincinnati in Dallas. Good Times! I will say though that baseball is boring live or on TV.

Ok I took one of B2K's quiz's and this one is what kind of kisser are you. interesting results...

You have a mysterious kiss. Your partner never
knows what you're going to come up with next;
this creates great excitement and arousal never
knowing what to expect. And it's sure to end
in a kiss as great as your mystery.
What kind of kiss are you?

The VS run is done!!! good purchases had by all! Well not p...
Today is Ana's last day..bummer, but that of course means drinks tonight! more good times to be had by all. going to a bar that has kareoke...that should be interesting.
Jeremy quit, bummer, but good for him!!! he wouldn't settle for less that he wanted. First time that has happened here.
My new boss from Assboro is here today. He seems cool.
We are also planning my last day party for the 23rd. gonna be fun. starting out with drinks, then gonna go play putt putt, then going for dinner and more drinks! I figure Putt Putt will be lots more fun after a drink or 2.
Listening to all of us singing the "oldies".

You know, the little things mean a lot. I can be having a not so great day and get a call, a note, or something from someone in my group of friends and/or family and the whole day gets better. So remember that you can make someone's day in an easy way!
M had a party Saturday night. it was nice. good food, good atmosphere, good friends. She opened her new house and had it outside by the pool and it is January... more reasons I will miss Florida. But as soon as weather is warm enough in assboro i am going to have one on my new deck....ideas are running around in my head now!
spent most of the day on Sunday packing. what fun! (see sarcasm here) I felt like i was getting nowhere.... the movers are loading my stuff the 21st so countdown is on!! I am still amazed at what I have collected, and what i threw away!
ah!! the return of sex in the city!! gotta love it! it was the highlight of my sunday evening, and that episode hit close to home...If i had to pick which one was my match i guess i would be a carrie. I am not quite as "free with the love" as samantha. Not quite as "uptown" as Charlotte. Not quite as nerotic as Miranda, (although I match her white skin and red hair) ......which one would you be?

What is it about me and the ocean? I am cancer, the sign of the crab and by all those horoscope-y charts, I am supposed to be attracted to it. I don't believe a lot of horoscope stuff but they got that one right. I love the water. I love the sound of it. I can be all tense, and go to the beach and life becomes good. I know I was meant to be near it... guess in asheboro the shower will have to do.
New Years Eve 3 of us went to the beach to listen to a band. (they sucked). so we left and walked the beach. I could stay there forever.
Last week while I was still sick mi familia and myself went to the beach. I felt better when we left!
Yesterday K and I went to ding darling to take pics. it is right off the ocean...It was sooooo peaceful.
When I win the lottery I know what I am doing with part of the money!!!
I know I am boring today...well better to make tomorrow more exciting!

new years eve.... i like it, i hate it...
K. P and I decided to have a slumber party. yes we are a little old for that. but are you ever really to old?
anyway, we could drink, eat, all that girl stuff and not have to worry about anyone drinking and driving.
pre party we went to the beach to listen to a band or 2. we went to the Lani Kai. whent he band finally got their stuff together, they opened with a typical beach song, with a jamacian beat. Then they played Chicago, the beatles, and a few other artists....all with a jamacian beat. it just didn't fit, chicago? jamacian? NOT! the singer sucked, and some ho kept doing the dirty dance with him even though he didn't participate back. her boyfriend was none to happy. but he must have been a woose as every time he tried to get her to stop, she jerked back and went right back to what she was doing and he just stood there. I kept waiting for the fight, never happened.
anyway, we got a few laughs out of the "rent a cops" that where there, then we walked the beach a bit and headed back to town and watched Dick Clark on TV. wooo-hoooo!
new years day is K's birthday. she wanted to go to ding darling to take pics and as I have been sick i didn't get up early with her. anyway, i tried to make it a good day for her. she was having a bit of a hard time with her age. so we went to a movie and back out to ding darling to keep her mind off of it. and ended with a celibatory piece of key lime pie.

my new years resolution
disclaimer: please keep your arms and legs inside the webpage as this could be a bumpy ride! The names have been changed to protect the innocent. (I don't really know any innocents).
seriously, i think i will keep it simple this year. as I have taken up the mantra of
"life is short"
this year i think i will let everyone I know and like how much they mean to me. how dangerous could that be?
don't answer that!

Marti's Top 10 List for 2003
in no particular order.
photography - I love the art of trying to capture something in it's moment.
Dark Chocolate - natural Endorphin producer. Your girl / guy a bit moody? Give em some chocolate!
Sex - always in style! (with the right person of course as i am not a fan of random acts of kindness, but if you are, good for you!)
Florida Coast - always beautiful and the sunrises and sunset are sure to put you in a good mood. I will return for visits.
Meeting S - it was great!
Sexy underthings - something about just knowing it is under there makes you feel good even if no one else knows and even better if they do!
Filet - Medium Rare - I love an occasional good thick red piece of meat.
Sundays - I allow myself many luxuries on Sundays. Sleeping in, coffee and the paper, Charles Osgoode in the AM on the TV, and more..
Will and Grace - May it live on in TV Infamy!
Music - If it is good, has a beat, and/or singable I am there!

Batteries as gifts
and not the good kind either!
story: i had to buy myself a Christmas gift.... a car battery! what fun!
mine died. I knew it needed replaced a while back but i let a man tell me it was just the battery cable. i knew better, but men are supposed to know these things, so i let him think he was right. ha ha ha.. if i coulda talked to him yesterday i would have had to done the "i told you i needed a battery thing!" and since I didn't listen to myself, it costed me even more in other parts. So off i go yesterday to purchase one. i pull into the shop under the sign battery installs here. Another guy is standing around i guess waiting on his car to be fixed. I open the hood, they service guy walks up and i just get out of my mouth "i need.." he looks at the battery buts his had up and goes, "say no more, i can see what you need." i am embarrased. I sense my dad is rolling in grave at my stupidity. the stand around guy wanders over. omg. the service man starts giving his spill and starts looking at the man, and not me.. i lean over to catch his gaze and get him to talk to me again. the stand around guy walks up to the truck. Service man starts talking to him again. I am like..what the.....! why does service guy not want to talk to me??? I lean over again to catch his gaze again. I tell him this is my truck and i want a battery that blah blah blah...he continues to look at stand around guy. needless to say i did a lot of leaning to catch his gaze, and my wallet is lighter but i needed to get it done. especially before the move. when all was said and done, the acid had eaten thru the positive terminal end and part of the wires. service man fixed it for now but guess what i am buying next!!

mi familia has left the building. I forget how much I miss them till they are gone. The house is quiet and although I don't feel so hot I am not so sure I can take all this quiet. I miss my son, I miss my sister. These are the times I hate this time of year.
Last night we went for a rousing game of Putt Putt. It was great weather for it. Eric has always wanted to go to the one we have here that has "live alligators"! They were live but not very lively. And the "water" looked toilet bowl blue. That can't be healthy. I forget what my score was but I will not be making the hall of putt putt fame anytime soon. Maybe some other hall of fame, but not that.
I took my son to breakfast before he left and we had a little visit time. good food also!
New Years is coming up and I want to do something. Not sure what.
leap tall buildings in a single bound.....nope.
go faster than a speeding bullet......nope.
damn, time is getting close got to figure out something!
I am trying to "get in the groove" of preparing for the move mode.
I think I want to make my own top 10 list for 2003. Yeah, that should be fun!
be back with that later!

i woke up feeling like shit today. my eyes hurt, my head hurts, my back hurts, i have a fever and a cough. damn i didn't want to go to work, but being the workaholic i am, i have employees to pay, invoices to create and reports to get out to the fields. so here i am. but as soon as i am done with that back home i go. as i drove to work today, i saw one of the prettiest sunrises i have seen yet. high clouds reflecting reds, oranges and golds, a few low clouds in front to be a dark gray blue contrast. as the sunrise spread out the clouds became a lovely shade of purple and lavender. life is good!
time to think about new years resolutions. i didn't make on last year due to the problem i had the year before. now it is funny, then it was ...well read on. i had just moved to florida, knew very few people, and decided that i would make an attempt to smile and greet people i passed with a hello. i am generally friendly if i know you or work with you but total strangers, well...... about 3 days after my resolution i was taking my trash out and noticed someone new moving in. there was a van with a chest of drawers in it that someone had already taken the drawers out of and carried in. i thought this would be a good oppotunity to make a newcomer to the neighborhood feel welcome and a chance for me to use my resolution. i kind of hung around and in a second an older man came out and i asked if he needed help. "sure" he replied. so i help him carry it upstairs to his apartment. we visited a minute, he seemed nice enough. the next saturday he was going to hit a few of the resale shops in the area and asked if I wanted to go. I thought, why not. first thing that got my gaurd up was.. we went to a shop, there was a big overstuffed chair with outtoman he wanted and he proceeds to tell the clerk he wants to get me in it. i am a little freaked.. on the way back to the apartment complex, he starts in on me taking a bubble bath with him.. now i am really freaked...in the next couple of days when i got home after work i would hear "hello marti". his bathroom window faced my parking space and his bedroom window faced my front room. he would be in the window, looking down at me. somehow he got my phone number. this is when it started getting even weirder. i would get home and no sooner than i let myself in, my phone would ring. it was him. "want to go out and grab a sandwich or come up?", "want me to draw you a bubble bath?" he was watching me. i was way creeped out. i quit answering my phone and parking away from my apartment. he eventually met someone else. maybe she took a bath with him, i didn't care, he quit bugging me. but he did lead to many fun conversations at beer thirty. as i tend to name some people, i named him porno man. (my last ex is the bastard) so for safety sake, last year i bowed out of resolutions. this year i will stick with something safe...not sure what yet...

Some things about christmas piss me off. like...
people and last minute shopping......
bitchy people.......
some things related to work and end of year......
i can see why people off themselves this time of year.(not that i would, i love life, but i totally understand)
ok i admit i am going shopping tonight, but did everyone either forget or put it off also? what gives? I think that calls for a gift for self! I know where I am going after work...
i was a target last night and i heard everything from the bitchy husband, the bitchy wife, the bitchy bitch. this should be a season of joy and celebrating! be glad you have a husband, wife, you can go shopping, be glad you can talk to bitch, just don't expose me to you pissed-off-ness.
here is my kicker for the day and feel bad for enjoying it. One of the subs on Karens job bought lunch for the office today. it was great, i enjoyed it!! here is the sucky part, we have a hold on every sub check till the first of the year. no sub is getting paid. the sub that bought lunch is one of them. merry christmas to you! hope he didn't put off his shopping....
highlight of the day, one of Karens DM's sent her a large bottle of Bailey's ..say are we seeing a trend here? just what is she doing? ha ha..anyway need to get her to crack it open!
M (she doesn't like me putting her on the web for all to see) and I are going to get our tattoo after the first of the year, donations welcome!

ok, today's funny is.... they have a sara lee factory here. i know you are saying why is that funny, well, it is an underwear factory. sara lee underwear. add that to the list of things that make you go hummmmm. makes me want to sing the old song "no body does it like sara lee!" oh i think that is " no body doesn't like sara lee" either will work. i prefer the first one. i lmao about that most of the day!
we toured around and went to Seagrove, it is first not near the sea and second a potters town. that was kind of cool. but that stuff is expensive!
I have a home here. signed a lease. ready to move in....end of next month. getting excited, also a little scared. reality hit when i signed the lease i think. i am here, moving from florida. but i think it is a good thing.
oh and i have to mention the churches. they are every freakin where. every time today sue saw one she said halaluya, and i said amen. needless to say we said that quite often!.

the hotel has a computer, thank god!
ok I am moving from old people ville to redneck ville. don't get me wrong, it seems a nice enough town and all..and it is pretty. i find myself listening to the people here talk. am i going to pick up this twang? for all those who know me, that could be scary! i talk a mile a minute, then add a NC twang....damn you guys are in for it!
Good things I have noticed here. Trees, i like trees, hills, i like hills. it is a clean town. and best of all i got to wear my favorite coat! it is soft a furry on the inside and suede on the outside. I want to wear it naked underneath it feels so good! Sue and I went to eat and the hostess kept rubbing me.. hummmm.
thing I have found humorous. an exit sign coming in to Assboro from Greensboro for high point and climax. i want to live there! high point of my trip!
The office is nice. i have an office and a window! The people are nice but i am not sure what they would think of the "out of office" self. keeping that low for now.
more later!

well i am flying to assboro today to check out the area. but i forgot my laptop. damn it! i am going to have withdrawals if I can't blog! Or check my e mail. Maybe I can find a "java cafe".......yeah right! So to all my friends and family, call me on my work phone if you miss me! OMG what if I don't have service?
A few of us went out last night. ended up at a bar with a great 2 man band. good times where had by all. up entirely to late but I don't care. i lmao. it is amazing who thinks they can sing when they are drunk! some of them are even fun to watch. one girl thought she could sing while rubbing herself all over. another guy I think had the hots for the band guys, i am still amazed that people can act like the weebles.. remember that toy? weebles wooble but they don't fall down..
Needless to say i am sleeping on the plane!
and to you, i have had a fun filled last 3 days. i hope it happens again in the future, the not to far future...

OK I get off track a few days and I get this!!
PeachyTXJo: It's Wednesday and you haven't blogged since Friday. You are going to cause the Earth to cease to spin! ;-)
This has been a hectic week and weekend past! The weekend sucked. It was the last weekend of vacation, that sucked, and it just sucked anyway! Sucking can be a good thing but.... This week has been hectic since Monday. Going to be a short week as I am flying to Assboro on Thursday. We have people in the office this week from out of town. We do the usual gathering after work to drink and that is always a good time.

i have been cleaning out my office and closets in preparation of the move. yes, there where some skeletons in there, I kind of shoved them to the side. So far I have drug out my old band jacket (made out of 100% vinyl and boy was I proud to get that!), an outfit I can no longer wear, is reminsent of Stevie Nicks era and for some reason i refuse to get rid of, my black angel wings from Halloween 2002(for all those days i strut around the house and pretend that I am a VS model, yeah right, that happens..), and way to much computer gear. jesus i need to have a sale, or maybe just dump some stuff!
I have six boxes containing 2 lionel trains and a HO train. ( that's HO scale not HO as in pimpin') I will not part with those. They get drug out once a year for the holidays, but here is the scary part. If I had the room I would leave them up all the time. Model trains and classic cars are hobbies/likes I got from my dad. one of the Lionel trains is his from when he was a kid. The other he purchased for me a few years back and it is an antique. The HO train I got new when I was about 18. My dad loved cars, he had a 48 chevy, 30 roadster, 64 riviera, among others. I used to work on cars with my dad in the garage. My little sister would be out with us in her play pen. Her first words were "God Damn it", (not joking), that was dad's standard phrase when he smashed his finger or whatever. My step mom was real proud of that, not, she used to be over the top religious.

Think I'll go take a ride on the Ho train..lmao......

OK I go rid of my home phone for 3 reasons. 1) 55 a month for basic service is just to darn high! 2) I have cable access online 3) I hate crap calls! Now I am getting them on my cell. I do not give that number out freely. how do they get my number? and to top it off I get an occasional text message that is a "crap" message. that costs me 10 cents each time! what gives?
and junk e mail... omg, i could refinance my home, work online at home in my spare time, or get religion.
i don't own my home so i ought to answer that one huh!
the work at home ones are either scams or wanting you to work for a 900 number. i get enough scams in my life with out that. and with my voice, i don't think that would turn anyone on unless you had a disney fetish. to me it sounds to me like i could be a cousin to minnie mouse. I tried making an obscene phone call one time in my teen years. I lowered my voice, husky and sexy ( or I thought) "hey baby, wanna run around naked and play doctor?" they hung up. The next day I saw them, they looked at me and said "very funny Marti". So needless to say that one is out.
and Jehovah witness keep disguising the watchtower via e mail. yourcreditreport@watchtower.com or findyourancestory@watchtower.com. like we don't all know that handout from those knocks at the door. always at the wrong time, always 2 young men in white shirts, black pants and tie, walking or riding bikes and that don't know the meaning of no. I think they should get hooked up with the 900 number! I think I will print one of those ads and the next time they come to my house and don't leave, I will tell them you can leave the watchtower if you take my handout. I am gonna hand them the e-mail then shut the door.

damn, i was reading yesterdays post and i was windy! and i didn't even get to tell you about all the men on the trip comparing lenses. "hey, mine is bigger than yours", and "well mine is more powerful than yours" type conversation. it was funny and we all know what marti was thinking. I was especially worried when one of the ladies wandered into the conversation, pulled out her small bag, (omg), and whipped hers out. "well check out my 2x converter" she says. I am lmao, and they just look at me. wouldn't a 2X converter be handy in life sometimes?
I think so!
I hung lights on the house yesterday evening, always an adventure. why is it you get a project going and you never have enough stuff? Last night i was 1 extension cord and 1 set of net lights short. I will take a pic tonight and post it for all to see.

i think i have found a place in asheboro. going to look at it end of next week. it looks nice, is brand new and sue will be my neighbor. (why did i hear mr. rogers when i typed that? won't you be my neighbor?) anyway, sue is the only other person at my office that choose to transfer. i feel good about this move. I think i will miss florida, but i need a change. i am looking forward to all the new photo ops, both in the asheboro area and in a decent driving distance. And new friends etc..
Had a pretty good Saturday, concidering it was an "anniversary" day for me. I went on the camera club trip to Caya Costa. WOW... It is so very remote. if you miss the last boat at 3, better find a bed buddy cause you ain't going anywhere...I would like to rent one of the little huts for a nite or 2 before i leave here. (and i mean hut, about 8 ft by 8 ft and sleeps 6 on hard cots). The boat ride over was sooo cold. and rough. there where some young couples on board that where going to camp overnight. they where all huddle up so cute. I was a little freaked out by the dude wearing a toe ring though. that is just weird, and i am pretty liberal.
When we arrived at the far side of the island, we spotted an osprey building his/her nest. (the bird for my piece of mind will be a he thoughout this blog) he didn't like humans, and was scared off by us and 2 more photographers. some bright fellow had his red jacket hanging on his tripod and had the nerve to wonder what scared the bird. Photography is like hunting, there are things you just don't do, like talk loud, wear red, etc.. anyway...
we walked the beach for about 5 feet, to damn windy and cold, It was 50 and a north wind at 25. we walked up the island and saw nothing, soooo, back to the osprey we go! Karen made an excellent picnic lunch and so we camped out at the nest for the day. I figure one good shot was worth 5 hours. Finally he came back to the nest with a branch, omg, i was taking pics right and left. he was to scared to leave the branch, and i was like, what the F@%*?? (remember that i am the youngest person in camera club), an old fart was wandering around below taking macro shots. oblivious to the osprey, and us. I hope I got the shot though. he walked over later and said, did i scare your bird away? i wanted to say :no duh dumb ass".. but out of respect for the elderly i just smiled and said well something scared it, not sure what. on the boat ride back to the mainland...(sounded good anyway didn't it) we say collier mansion and dolphins swimming with the boat. that was cool. Only could have been a better day if i had a run in with some hot cabana boy...hahahaha!

Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the legal independance of Marti from the ass, even though our seperation was longer than that. legal is always good! Time for celebration by all! I myself think it should be but on the register of national days off! Why I spent so long with him and exposed my son for so long to him is beyond me, but I know everything in life happens for a reason. I must have been a really bad kid! ha ha ha! I plan to celebrate with first starting my vacation, second going on a "camera safari" tomorrow at Cayo Costa, then ending up with dinner and a good bottle of wine. and who know what else!

I have lens envy. (as opposed to penis envy.) I got my slides back from the great trip karen and i took to ding darling. it is probably the worst set of pictures i have taken. 6 rolls 36 slides a roll. i threw away over half. so why do i have lens envy? karen recently purchased a 100 to 500 lens. I only have a 75 to 300 lens and boy did it show. and it didn't help any either that i lost my polarizer filter either. damn.
and now i thought i had things all planned out, the next thing i really wanted was another tattoo. gonna cost around 200. but thenkaren goes and buys herself a new camera (Nikon D100), and tells me she is going to sell two of her other ones. omgone is a nikon n90s and the other one is a nikon f5. now i am soooooo confused....to own a nikon!!! to get my other tattoo!!! i know that would be an easy decision for most, but......
listening to, well actually I am talking to jerime about how we are sooooo over kids!

well I am a bit off this week. monday was world aids awareness day. i had this whole politically correct blog ready in my mind to post on monday. well that didn't happen. so here is my long story short. no glove, no love. in fact wear 2!!!
watching that show where paris hilton and her friend go to the country. they are weird. makes me glad i haven't had money. they have never worked and didn't know what walmart was. whatever.
i have vacation next week. i am looking forward to that. no big plans. gonna pack and chill. oh! that sounds like a good name for a bar! "Hey hon, i am gonna run down to the pack and chill and grab a beer!"
one of the girls in the office i am moving to sent me some pics of a place she found for me to rent up there. looks nice..I just have an issue committing until I see it in person. (no comment sister) the rentor wants me to send a deposit if I like it. If I go down and don't like it, I don't get that back. Ahhh headaches. calgon take me away!
listening to the TV in the other room and my cats running around...

Recently a man of great vision passed. Joseph P. williams. haven't heard of him? well we pay homage to him every day almost. used your credit card lately? he was a bank executive in California working for Bank of America that "invented" the credit card. First called Bank Americard, then changed to visa. interesting. First he is from the bank i can't stand the most, and then thanks to his efforts, we the people now support lending institutions. americans charge over a trillion a year via credit card. the majority of those americans do it with the intention of paying out that high dollar item they just have to have but can not really afford. then they get into debt, have to go to debt counseling or file bankruptcy. which is worse, i don't know as they both screw with your credit. and for the next kicker, try doing just about anything with out a credit card. can you rent a car? no. can you book a flight via online or phone? no. can you stay in a hotel? no. and if you can find a place that takes a check, they want to see your drivers license and 2 forms of other id. other id being a credit card! so next time you charge on your card, and really can't afford it, thank mr. willliams. raise your glasses, here is a toast, to mr. williams. may your beer not sour.

Thanksgiving is over. good for some bad for others. As i walk this friday evening i see some of my neighbors have put up their trees and other decorations for Christmas. I am not quite over thanksgiving yet. I can't help but wonder what was the first thanksgiving like. the indians, the pilgrims, some food cooked by pilgrim wives. (cause you can bet the men didn't cook in those days.) Englanders landing in northern USA in November, that would have to be "refeshing" enough this time of year. but hey, let's add to this adventure, let's invite a few natives over and feed them before we shoot them and take their land!
wow! excitement! Shouldn't we all be worried that now we can get any kind of food here readily and available? Are they feeding us before the slaughter?
I myself prefer to hope we are all learning to live together and big one big melting pot of diversity, enjoying the fruits of many nations chef skills. except for india. sorry to the natives there but that is some nasty cooking. i think they are trying to poison us! well me anyway.
Happy day after turkey day

today is turkey day! happy turkey day to all. i am thankful that i am somewhat healthy, have a few close friends, good family, met an interesting person thru blogging (b2k), have a job and i am free! we could live in oh say Iran or Iraq you know! things could be worse so i am thankful they aren't.
i planned on using today as a packing day. ever looked at something as was overwhelmed? omg i am. today, borrowing a line or 2 from george carlin, i could use all the forms of the word "shit" damn i have some shit. this is the shits. i am gonna be in some shit if i don't get this shit packed. whew enough of that shit.
i don't know where to start, but have to start somewhere as i have to get this done. everyone who comes to my house make comments on all the neat things I have around and right now i am not likeing those things! i have plans coming up in a week or two (should be fun) and moving in a month to 6 weeks so i need to be ahead of the game. wonder what it would cost to have the movers do it...isn't that a lazy thought! or how about i sell it all and start over...not!
oh and a few key words to...well you know who you are.....fan, desk, car
what are you thankful for today?

omg i am so excited! last night is the first time I have gotten to sleep on my stomach since I got my piercing! I have always been a big stomach sleeper and this is just way to cool! OK I know, simple things for simple people but ...
today karen and i went to ding darling reserve. one if a list of natural places that i will miss when i move. have you ever taken 3 hours to go 5 miles? we don't talk much, but both being photographers, the sighting of the birds, and enjoying each other getting a great shot is phenominal. people don't always understand what it takes to get that great shot. it was a wonderful trip, relaxing, and i got 6 rolls of birds. we saw: rosate spoonbills, osprey, brown pelicans, ibis, blue heron, tri colors, cormorants, egrets, yellow crown night heron, anhingas, plovers, sea gulls, red shouldered hawk, 2 rare birds, the wood stork, and a morph, and a bird named after my second husband, the basard bird! whew! i also saw a gator, not a rarety for here but the first one i have seen in there. i will go back there before i leave. we topped off the day with a light lunch on sanibel island, and a short round of shopping. i purchased a sago palm at lowes, that i want to take with me when i move. a little bit o florida.
listening to my tv in the other room on HBO.

last nite we went a drinkin'
my friend nicole recently turned of age and had been trying to get all of us together for the express purpose of her being carded. good times where had by all, to bad it was a work nite. we had great conversation and talked about a lot of enlightening subjects. and i guess i shouldn't have left as i understand the conversation got even better! something about oral sex......hate that i missed that one. i know i had a good time and ended up kissing all the girls before i left. friendly kisses, no tongue. the man at the next table seem to like it. today i struggle thru the day with the ever so slight bit of hangover, hoping for more good times like that!
listening to all of us at work after 5 on a friday sing with the radio to "kiss me" isn't that ironic?!

Today I wore my glasses to work, (not to be compared with wearing your sunglasses at night!) and a co worker told me I look smart in them... interesting, I must look stupid the rest of the time. another person told me I don't take compliments well, well I think that is right.
I don't do the following:
take compliments well
get it most of the time when some one is interested and are not direct about it
have sex with strangers
that is just about all I won't do, we won't even go into what i will do.
One of my sisters friends says he is "getting to know me" by my blog...no names mentioned....jef... so just what would some one think I am like by reading this?
interesting.
I read over this and think..
well you tell me what you think!

Monday nite I had camera club. one of many activities I do enjoy outside of work. even though most of them are retired, it is a good group of people. I did well, I scored 2 awards, and 5 honorable mentions. The best score I got was a black and white of the St. Louis Arch! i got a 25 out of a possible 27. i feel like crap today so i am not my usual smart ass self...sorry
Hi NICOLE!!! I haven't forgot you!
listening to pop rock (not the candy, although I have heard the candy is good for other things! hummmm)
how are you scoring?

OK here is one thing I won't miss...
Freaking snow birds. when i retire i am going to move up north and drive slow in the fast lane! this morning i had one pull out in front of me, go 60 on I-75 in the fast lane, when the speed limit is 70.
and did i see redneck city saturday nite! what an adventure! this one girl was after this guy that was old enough to be her daddy. there was the pre-requisite girl fight. the white guy who can't dance. omg was he a spaz!! the guy who hasn't quite made it out of the 70's. i had a lot of fun being bad and talking about the crowd! i wouldn't touch any of them with a 10 foot pole though.
eeeewwww!! but is was good for laughs and the music didn't suck!

i will be moving
this morning sitting on my back porch, having a cup o' java, reality hit.
wow
this is drastic.
have I made the right decision? asheboro is a tiny town. how will i handle that? one of the issues i have with fort myers is the lack of people my age. is a tiny town going to be any better?
as i sit on the porch pondering life for me at this moment a flock if ibis walk around my house. i won't see that in north carolina. they wander past me, some of them looking up from their grazing, some of them oblivious that i am there. i wonder what the significance of seeing them means. maybe that everything, moves and changes, as these birds are moving in for the winter. maybe nothing except they are looking for something to eat and i am an idiot! well what is new there? haha.
for myself i hope it brings good things for my personal life. there, i am a loser and said so for all to see!
don't judge me for being a loser! join the club!
listening to the american music awards on tv, while the microwave beeps that my dinner is done!

ah,
sleep,
my bed,
cool crisp morning,
warm and toasty under the covers.
hearing in my head the sound of barry white singing "can't get enough of your love, babe".
snuggling with...
(see reality hitting me here......)
my body pillow.
damn it, it is morning and my alarm is singing to me, and i have to get up. I hate mornings! it is perfect florida weather today. guess i should enjoy it while I can. sooooo why am I working? but good thing is it won't be for long!
Going to a blues fest tonight. plan on getting a little toasted. Not to much, but just enough.Friends from work are going and good times to be had by all!
Spent last night paying bills online, shopping the asheboro area, and drinking wine...NOT gonna do that again tonight!
Listening to Kelly Clarkson (yup)

things i find curiously interesting...
Altoids, the "presidential" mints...
edible underwear...
listening to Josh Groban

OMG I didn't blog Wednesday! a day without blogging is a day without sunshine! hahaha.
the president is coming to town today. oh boy. he is going to a fund raising dinner at Al hoffman's (CEO if WCI) house. $2000 a plate. hummm just how big is al's house? of course all the news is covering it. they won't say how he is getting to al's house via helicopter or motorcade, but let's see if we can figure this out. he is landing at 3:55 and is due at al's house at 4pm. hummm. go national security! I feel safe.

Advertising sayings you don't want to hear in the heat of passion...
just do it
extra !- extra!
size matters (jewlery ad)
A friend of mine tried to download the Paris Hilton sex video off the net. Instead, that person got a video of two guys having sex with a goat.
That's what happens when you try to download sex stuff off the Internet. From now on, that friend should go back to peeking through bedroom windows. That way at least then they know what they are getting.
found these great horoscopes on the web last night. lmao.
Currently listening to the smooth, crisp sound of Josh Groban.

I had a rather pleasant (and always short) weekend. I worked on refinishing my patio furniture, cleaned my humble abode and watched movies out the arse. Oh and the prerequisite trip to Barnes and nobles. May I recommend both "what a girls wants" and "Harry Potter - chamber of secrets". Both considered "teen" movies, but both where excellent! I plan on spending what is left of today eating a good meal and watching bandits. Love that cate blanchett!

A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette with a satisfied smile on it's face. The egg, looking a bit pissed off, grabs the sheet, rolls over and says, "Well I guess we finally answered THAT question!"
now hasn't that joke been right there in front of us for years?
what's your question?

the profile of my birth sign - Cancer - with comments..
It's easy to spot a Cancer by their round faces. (yup) That physical characteristic reflects the soft, affectionate nature of this sign. (Hugs and Kisses everyone) Cancers are very much about home and security and nurture. The crab can be a bit of a packrat, because he or she may attach emotional value to things others may consider junk. (OMG have they been to my house?) They can be overly emotional, and they tend to fantasize about the past and what it meant for them. (What if I had done things different? Would I be where I am today? Damn the man and don't trust whitey!) Cancers are incredibly loyal as mates, but don't ever tell them what to do. (Damn Straight!) Sometimes Cancer is very sociable, but sometimes they need their alone time. (OK where is the camera?) This sign is very giving, but has a tough time receiving the generosity of others. Because of their nurturing qualities, they are great at jobs in which they take care of others, such as nursing. (OK I disagree with this one as I can 't stand the sight of blood.) Cancers are prone to all sorts of illness, but female crabs should pay special attention to their reproductive systems. Famous Cancers include Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela and Mike Tyson.
So do you think it is right?

sometimes i am embarrassed how stupid i can really be. we where told a couple of fridays back that 2/3rds of our office will be with out jobs by year end. they will consider transfers though. i let the transferring office know of my interest after talking to my supervisor and him telling me to send an e mail to the new pres of our division. This being the 2nd conversation we had. the first one being his "concern" about me. i expressed an interest then but he "didn't recall" me saying that when we had conversation #2. and after conversation #2, he walks by my desk the next friday and goes "we need to get your duties transferred out so you can move on to other things". i reminded him that i had sent the prez an e mail. he screwed up his face and goes what e mail? what the f#$%? i remind him and he goes what did he tell you? i said to talk to another person. he goes oh, ok.
so today he talks to me again and says "i heard from a little birdy that you where thinking of transferring" i wanted to slap myself. i said we talked about this and you suggested i send an e mail to the prez. he said he didn't think that meant i wanted to transfer. what the f%$#? he asked me if i decided to stay and i said i can not afford to transfer as Risk. i never said i wasn't going to try to transfer.
OMG i need outta here!
and how is your boss today?

soul mates
is there really such a thing? how do you really know if you met them? Have I let mine pass by? did i smile and wave as they passed thinking get the hell out of my way?
does a soul mate bug you if they smack when they eat?
questions all running thru my mind. i don't even think I believe in soul mates. i obviously suck at picking men as i have tried marriage 2 times and both were a loss. no one is perfect either. have i set myself up for failure or disappointment? why is it some seem perfect till you really get to know them?
and what really is marriage? a piece of paper? is that going to make me want someone more? i don't think so.
i do know this. i do want a long term relationship. i do want to grow old with someone. but i think i will not find everything i am looking for. (and that isn't much) so where do i settle?
where are you settling?
