Friday's Funnies

The Pond

An elderly man in Floridahad owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice -- picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some orange and grapefruit trees.

The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built. One evening, the old farmer decided to go down to the pond and look it over, as he hadn't been there for a while. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.

One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"

The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked."

Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator."

Moral: Old men can still think fast!

San Fran Day 2

K
I am busted arse tired! We both started the day with headaches, unsure why, but...
We decided to start in the Haight Ashbury district known for it's unique and vintage clothing. Boy, if I was younger and skinner could I have dropped some bucks!
We walked up and down Haight Street perusing in and out of the shops. I picked up a bohemian shirt I have been wanting for $10 along with another couple of things. We had brunch in the Peoples Cafe. Most of the restaurants had stand outside waiting as they are rather small. Kinda like in New York. We ended up sharing a table with another young dude. college age, trying to study, but sitting at a table for 4...
I am sure he was thrilled with our "catching up" conversation. YOu could kinda tell he wanted to ignore us, but was kinda enjoying listening in. Oh and I missed the really great deal on a purse that I SOOO could have redone into such a cool one..
Oh well
Then we went to union square and walked up through Chinatown, up to Coit Tower, then back down through little Italy and Nob Hill. That sounded really quick but let me tell you it wasn't. My legs are telling me that now and I am sure will be tomorrow. The walk up to Coit Tower was excrutiating but oh so worth the pain. (I thought I was going to throw up going up the steep street!)
'bout that time it was time for dinner and let me tell you this is where the comparision to New York stops...
The streets start rolling up at 5 PM.
So we ended up heading back to the hotel looking for places to eat off the highway. There is NOTHING off the highway.
SO we ended up at a quaint little place up by the hotel, had a beer and some food.
Now I am back at the room to tired to upload all my pics from today..
Here are the few I did of Height Ashbury.

More pics later....

San Fran Day 1

Well I am in Sunny San Fran

"cept it isn't sunny
cause it's night

After the LONG flight here, we managed to find the hotel with half of the directions.
Pretty good for 2 chicks huh!

So now it is 2:09 home time, but 11:09 California time and so we decided to for go dinner and start fresh in the AM..

Night!

Friday's Funnies

The Sheriff in a small town walks out in the street and sees a blond cowboy coming down the walk with nothing on but his cowboy hat, gun and his boots, so he arrests him for indecent exposure.

As he is locking him up, he asks "Why in the world are you dressed like this?"

The Cowboy says "Well it's like this Sheriff..I was in the bar down the road and this pretty little red head asks me to go out to her motor home with her....

so I did.

We go inside and she pulls off her top and asks me to pull off my shirt...

so I did.

Then she pulls off her skirt and asks me to pull off my pants...

so I did.

Then she pulls off her panties and asks me to pull off my shorts...

so I did.

Then she gets on the bed and looks at me kind of sexy and says, "Now go to town cowboy........

And here I am.

See, Blonde Men do exist.

So Tired

So tired,
at last,
curves on my body all fitted in the mattress valleys.
Each muscle at rest and aware of bliss,
can feel the nothingness of bones at rest.
Pillow,
barely conscious.
And mind,
so tired,
certain areas at rest.
For once a well earned thoughtlessness.
No pain,
no need to be at full center,
no reigns to hold,
defenses down,
practicals at rest.

The Trip

So,

If you want to see the few pics of the Busch Race, or the NASCAR Race
But better ones are here of the Family and my son the birthday boy

A new Pope

So we mark a lifetime event..

A new Pope has been selected. According to a book found fairly recently in the vatican by St. Malachy

The 111th prophesy is "Gloria Olivae" (The Glory of the Olive). The Order of Saint Benedict has claimed that this pope will come from their ranks. Saint Benedict himself prophesied that before the end of the world his Order, known also as the Olivetans, will triumphantly lead the Catholic Church in its fight against evil.

Soooo,

we will see..
Pope John Paul II was:

The 110th is "De Labore Solis" (Of the Solar Eclipse, or, From the Toil of the Sun). The corresponding pope is John Paul II (1978-present). John Paul II was born on May 8, 1920 during an eclipse of the sun. Like the sun he came out of the East (Poland). Like the sun he has visited countries all around the globe while doing his work (he is the most-traveled pope in history).

Hummm

NASCAR Weekend

We're back!
NASCAR weekened was great! I'll post some pics later today..
Texas Motor Speedway had great facilities and both the Busch race and the Nextel cup where great fun.

And, as my mind usually wanders while I am sitting still..

The hub and I are sitting in the airport, waiting to board our first flight to Texas and found myself pondering:

Couldn't they have named the spot where you wait for the plane ANYTHING but a
terminal????

Hummm....

Friday's Funnies

A woman gets home, screeches her car into the driveway, runs into the
house, slams the door and shouts to her husband at the top of her lungs,
"Pack your bags. I won the lottery!" The husband says, "Oh my God! What
should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?" "Doesn't matter," she says.
"Just get the hell out."

No offense intended...but...

I find this a bit weird

Broiled Parmesan Talapia

too good! low fat too! Well it can be if I say so can't it?

6 Talapia filets

Mix in a medium bowl:
1/2 c Parmesan Cheese (shredded)
1/4 cup butter softened
3T mayo
2t lemon juice
2t onion flakes
1/2 t basil
1/4 t pepper
1/8 t celery salt

set bowl aside.

Preheat oven to broil.
Spray a baking pan with Pam and lay the filets out in the pan trying not to overlap pieces. Broil one side of the fish 2 to 3 minutes. Take the pan out, turn the filets over and spoon the mixture over the fish filets and return to oven. Broil until it starts to turn golden. Takes about 3 to 5 minutes.

note: I sprinkled just a bit of Parmesan on top of the mixture before returning the filets to the oven.

Enjoy!

My Answers to Your Questions

If you had to be blind or deaf, which would you choose and why?
Even though I LOVE music, I would have to say deaf for 2 reasons..
a) I would rather be able to see my friends and family
and
b) I could always learn to read lips and sign.

What is the thing you love most about the Captain?
His bald head! Ha Ha
I love that he loves me for me in all my fast talking, semi-anal, sometimes forgetful, fast paced, occasionally creative self.

Your favorite all time CD that you would take on a deserted island?
Harry Nelsons “Lime in the Coconut” CD.
Joking…
The best of One Hit Wonders..
Joking again….
I don’t have ONE all time favorite but I guess I would have to say right now I would take the mix CD my sister made for my hitch’n to the Hub.

People would be shocked to learn that you __________.
Have my mother in a box in my closet. I also took her on a trip to the Florida Keys. In her box. With my sister and son.

What is the worst thing you've done while drunk?
Threw up out the window from the backseat of someone’s car I didn’t know.
That wasn’t too exciting was it…I’m a happy drunk.

If you were president, which famous (living) movie star or musician would you choose for VP?
The Donald.

Have you ever been arrested? If so, for what?
Ah ha, trying to be sneaky are we???
Yes, by the fashion police and many times actually. My picture used to be featured on the backs of many fashion magazines. You know the ones, where I had the black rectangle over my eyes so you couldn’t “see me”, yes, that was me. They had captions like:
“EWW! Don’t be caught dead like this”
“OMG, never do this .”
I got tired of the black box in my way and as I got older they got tired of me. Go Figure!
I was also once also arrested and jailed for a charity.

If you were a Disney or Loony Toons cartoon, which one would you be and why.
What are you talking about I am a Looney Tune! LMAO! (OK, maybe just looney)… I would be Jessica Rabbit, and do I have to answer why?? HELLO!!

Favorite "brand" of motorcycle?

Well as I am new at this free time activity I would have to say Honda as I have a Honda Shadow Ace 750. I sat on Kawasaki, Harley, etc, and the Honda had the best balance for me. And the seat was comfortable too.

Ever horsebacked?
Uhmmm……. I hope we are talking horses here…wink wink.. Yes, my family used to have horses for fun and I also used to show cows, Black Angus. I had a Shetland Pony until it bit me. I sold it and bought a 10 speed bike. My dad used to ride me horseback on his back when I was wee if that counts too!

Do you know where you're going to be when life passes by?
With the Hub, on a beach in Florida, wearing that all too small swimsuit that people my age shouldn’t wear, (with the prerequisite socks AND sandals), drinking adult alcoholic beverages. I know, I am going to hell, at least I have already made my handbasket.

What's your most favorite dinner meal?
Filet Mignon, Medium Rare, a good salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing, potato of any kind, Red wine (not too dry), and anything chocolate for dessert.
YUMM!!

OK OK My 4 questions.........

From my sister, who got it from Sam at madlife:

Ask me 4 questions.

Any 4, no matter how personal, private or random. I have to answer them honestly. I have to answer them all. In turn, you post this message in your own blog or journal and you have to answer the questions that are asked of you.

C'mon! It'll be fun!

EF I am planning yours now!

The BIG Link

This weeks big link! Check chewok out!

The cat's away...

The mice will play!

And as for me I love it!
It all started on Friday..

Wicker and the morning show, Jeff, AJ, Neil and Skip, revolted. (Well Neil at first wasn't to hip on the idea, but anyhow, he soon jumped into the groove and started requeating his own songs.)
A bit of rebellion, damn the man, attitude took over as Skip the prize guy wanted to hear Wild Cherry, Play that Funky Music. It isn't on the playlist and was quickly "nipped in the bud". Until the listeners started calling in reguesting it.
That was it.
Listeners started e-mailing and calling in their requested songs, myself included. So Since 6 AM Friday morning, the Morning Show has been playing our requests. Some of the best, most diverse range of music I have heard since I left Texas.
OK most diverse is a wee bit exagerated....
I listened to the radio all day yesterday until, exhausted, I went to bed. I hated to turn it off. But much to my excitement, I got up this AM and they are still at it!

It's a great day for radio..

And I think a great idea for a radio station format.
I know they spend hundreds of thousands on surveys etc. to see what we "supposedly" want to hear. But they have never once asked me!

This should tell all the radio execs something..

Damn the Man!

Gotta go they are playing my song....

literally!

www.987thezone.com

go listen and then e-mail their boss (MBRYAN@entercom.com) so they don't get the axe!

Friday's Funnies

Horseback Riding

A blonde had a near death experience the other day when she went horseback riding. Everything was going fine until the horse started bouncing out of control. She tried with all her might to hang on, but was thrown off.
With her foot caught in the stirrups, she fell head first to the ground. Her head continued to bounce on the ground as the horse did not stop or even slow down.
Just as she was giving up hope and losing consciousness, the Wal-Mart manager came out and unplugged the horse.
