Mid week laugh
This was too cute I couldn't resist:
A Marine squad was marching north of Basra when they came upon an insurgent soldier badly injured and unconscious. Nearby, on the opposite side of the road, was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state.. The Marine was conscious and alert. As first aid was given to both men, the Marine was asked what had happened.
The Marine reported, "I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent. Seeing each other we both took cover. I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable low-life scumbag, and he yelled back that Teddy Kennedy is a rich, good-for-nothing fat drunk.
We were standing there shaking hands when a truck hit us."

Friday's Funnies
Yes it has been a busy 2 weeks and I haven't blogged. I will get back inthe swing of things this next week. In the meantime, ENJOY!
Dave works hard at the plant and spends two nights each week bowling and plays golf every Saturday. His wife thinks he's pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she takes him to a local strip club.
The doorman at the club greets them and says, "Hey, Dave! How ya doin?"
His wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before. "Oh no," says Dave. "He's on my bowling team."
When they are seated, a waitress asks Dave if he'd like his usual and brings over a Budweiser. His wife is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and says, "How did she know that you drink Budweiser?"
"I recognize her, she's the waitress from the golf club. I always have a bud at the end of the 1st nine, honey.
A stripper then comes over to their table, throws her arms around Dave, starts to rub herself all over him and says, "Hi Davey. Want your usual table dance, big boy?"
Dave's wife, now furious, grabs her purse and storms out of the club.
Dave follows and spots her getting into a cab. Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her. Dave tries desperately to explain how the stripper must have mistaken him for someone else, but his wife is having none of it. She is screaming at him at the top of her lungs, calling him every 4 letter word in the book. The cabby turns around and says, "Geez Dave, you picked up a real bitch this time."

Friday's Funnies
A man is driving down a deserted stretch of highway when he notices a sign out of the corner of his eye. It reads:
SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION 10 MILES
He thinks it was a figment of his imagination and he drives on without second thought. Soon he sees another sign, which says:
SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION 5 MILES
Suddenly, he begins to realize that these signs are for real.... Then he drives past a third sign saying:
SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION NEXT RIGHT
His curiosity gets the best of him and he pulls into the drive. On the far side of the parking lot is a stone building with a small sign next to the door reading:
SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
He climbs the steps and rings the bell. The door is answered by a nun in a long black habit who asks, "What may we do for you, my son?" He answers, "I saw your signs along the highway, and was interested in possibly doing business."
"Very well, my son. Please follow me."
The man is led through many winding passages and is soon quite disoriented. The nun stops at a closed door and tells the man, "Please knock on this door." He does as he is told and another nun in a long habit, holding a tin cup answers the door. This nun instructs, "Please place $100 in the cup, then go through the large wooden door at the end of this hallway." He gets $100 out of his wallet and places it in the
second nun's cup.
He trots eagerly down the hall and slips through the door, pulling it shut behind him. As the door locks behind him, he finds himself back in the parking lot, facing another small sign:
GO IN PEACE.
YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SCREWED BY THE SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS.
SERVES YOU RIGHT, YOU SINNER

Inheriting a Fortune:
Due to inherit a fortune when his sickly, widower father died, Robert decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So he went to a singles bar and he searched until he spotted a woman whose beauty took his breath away.
"Right now, I'm just an ordinary man," he said, walking up to her, "but
within a month or two, my father will pass and I'll inherit over 20
million dollars." The woman went home with Robert, and four days later
she became his stepmother.
Men will never learn.

Speeding Ticket Aftermath
Yes, it is true, I am not fan of attorneys that solicit via TV, newspaper etc.
SO
We all know I got the big speeding ticket and that I have issues with the way I got it anyway. I have decided to "fight it" via an attorney and a friend at work recommended one that she uses.. (yes I said uses...LOL)
And I like his name.
Charlie Brown.. he HAS to be a good guy with a name like that don't you think??
But, back to my rant for the day..
I have received no less than 20,
twenty
two - zero
one fifth of a hundred....
Mailings in the mail from various attorneys wanting to solicit my business to fight my ticket from all freaking over the county.
K
I know, variety is the spice of life, you should have options, some people wouldn't know who to use... I've heard or said them all but DAMN.. It is just the principle of the thing ya know? I also know my speeding ticket isn't a Big Ticket Item for attorneys so I shouldn't bitch. (But what would be the fun in that) It's not like I was in a wreck or have a workmans comp case. Now if I that was the case.... look out!!! Can you imagine the mailings and or contacts from attorneys then? We would lose a forest..
I think I will post them all in a post called
Amulance Chasers.
Disclaimer:
know any good lawyer jokes?
Just kidding...

Friday's Funnies
Bumper Stickers we'd all like to see...
Jesus loves you...but everyone else thinks you are an ass.
Impotence...Nature's way of saying "No hard feelings,"
The proctologist called ...they found your head.
Everyone has a photographic memory ...some just don't have any film.
Save your breath...You'll need it to blow up your date.
Your ridiculous little opinion has been noted.
I used to have a handle on life...but it broke off.
Guys...just because you have one, doesn't mean you have to be one.
Some people just don't know how to drive...I call these people "Everybody But Me,"
Heart Attacks...God's revenge for eating His animal friends.
Don't like my driving? Then quit watching me.
If you can read this...I can slam on my brakes and sue you.
Try not to let your mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.
Hang up and drive!!
And The Number One Bumper Sticker you'd Like To See!!
Welcome to America...now speak English

Things I heard...
I was at this casino minding my own business and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.
The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how much I play, I'll never be as good as a wall. I played a wall once. They're relentless.

How can this be right??
So, I got a ticket. A speeding ticket.
I admit I was speeding, I saw the cop, looked down and I was doing 70.
He turned on his lights, I pulled over on a side street as I was on a smaller 2 lane road.
The cop turns around but doesn't pull in behind me. I am thinking "What the he**"
Another cop appears and pulls in behind me. Where the heck did he come from?
He comes up to the window and says he has stopped me for speeding.
I never speed, you can ask the hub. I have no idea why I was this day. Other things on my mind I guess. I am thinking I will be nice maybe he either won't give me a ticket or see I haven't had any in years and give me a warning, (last ticket I got was in Texas when I lived there).
He tells me the "other" cop clocked me at 70 but he clocked me at 78.
Again, I am thinking "What the F**"!
I get a ticket, for 78, and he didn't even have me sign the ticket. In Texas you have to sign it, as it isn't an admission of guilt, just that you acknowledge you where cited and agree to dispute or show up for court.
The hub says in NC that doesn't apply.
Still seems a bit off and wrong to me... 2 different speeds, not having to sign it..
The hub wants to get a Lawyer and fight it, which is OK by me...
What up with that??

Friday's Funnies
The Pond
An elderly man in Floridahad owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice -- picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some orange and grapefruit trees.
The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built. One evening, the old farmer decided to go down to the pond and look it over, as he hadn't been there for a while. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"
The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked."
Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator."
Moral: Old men can still think fast!

WORK WORK WORK damn it!!!

I got a few neat sunset at the marina shots..post those later...
Today I continue to share the pics of Sundays adventure..
Check out the trip to Coit Tower, which has a great panoramic view of the bay!
For best results, use the slide show feature when you get to the picture page, upper right corner!
Disclaimer: Time shown as post isn't always time in San Fran... not sure why.

San Fran Day 2
K
I am busted arse tired! We both started the day with headaches, unsure why, but...
We decided to start in the Haight Ashbury district known for it's unique and vintage clothing. Boy, if I was younger and skinner could I have dropped some bucks!
We walked up and down Haight Street perusing in and out of the shops. I picked up a bohemian shirt I have been wanting for $10 along with another couple of things. We had brunch in the Peoples Cafe. Most of the restaurants had stand outside waiting as they are rather small. Kinda like in New York. We ended up sharing a table with another young dude. college age, trying to study, but sitting at a table for 4...
I am sure he was thrilled with our "catching up" conversation. YOu could kinda tell he wanted to ignore us, but was kinda enjoying listening in. Oh and I missed the really great deal on a purse that I SOOO could have redone into such a cool one..
Oh well
Then we went to union square and walked up through Chinatown, up to Coit Tower, then back down through little Italy and Nob Hill. That sounded really quick but let me tell you it wasn't. My legs are telling me that now and I am sure will be tomorrow. The walk up to Coit Tower was excrutiating but oh so worth the pain. (I thought I was going to throw up going up the steep street!)
'bout that time it was time for dinner and let me tell you this is where the comparision to New York stops...
The streets start rolling up at 5 PM.
So we ended up heading back to the hotel looking for places to eat off the highway. There is NOTHING off the highway.
SO we ended up at a quaint little place up by the hotel, had a beer and some food.
Now I am back at the room to tired to upload all my pics from today..
Here are the few I did of Height Ashbury.
More pics later....

Friday's Funnies
The Sheriff in a small town walks out in the street and sees a blond cowboy coming down the walk with nothing on but his cowboy hat, gun and his boots, so he arrests him for indecent exposure.
As he is locking him up, he asks "Why in the world are you dressed like this?"
The Cowboy says "Well it's like this Sheriff..I was in the bar down the road and this pretty little red head asks me to go out to her motor home with her....
so I did.
We go inside and she pulls off her top and asks me to pull off my shirt...
so I did.
Then she pulls off her skirt and asks me to pull off my pants...
so I did.
Then she pulls off her panties and asks me to pull off my shorts...
so I did.
Then she gets on the bed and looks at me kind of sexy and says, "Now go to town cowboy........
And here I am.
See, Blonde Men do exist.

So Tired
So tired,
at last,
curves on my body all fitted in the mattress valleys.
Each muscle at rest and aware of bliss,
can feel the nothingness of bones at rest.
Pillow,
barely conscious.
And mind,
so tired,
certain areas at rest.
For once a well earned thoughtlessness.
No pain,
no need to be at full center,
no reigns to hold,
defenses down,
practicals at rest.

A new Pope
So we mark a lifetime event..
A new Pope has been selected. According to a book found fairly recently in the vatican by St. Malachy
The 111th prophesy is "Gloria Olivae" (The Glory of the Olive). The Order of Saint Benedict has claimed that this pope will come from their ranks. Saint Benedict himself prophesied that before the end of the world his Order, known also as the Olivetans, will triumphantly lead the Catholic Church in its fight against evil.
Soooo,
we will see..
Pope John Paul II was:
The 110th is "De Labore Solis" (Of the Solar Eclipse, or, From the Toil of the Sun). The corresponding pope is John Paul II (1978-present). John Paul II was born on May 8, 1920 during an eclipse of the sun. Like the sun he came out of the East (Poland). Like the sun he has visited countries all around the globe while doing his work (he is the most-traveled pope in history).

NASCAR Weekend
We're back!
NASCAR weekened was great! I'll post some pics later today..
Texas Motor Speedway had great facilities and both the Busch race and the Nextel cup where great fun.
And, as my mind usually wanders while I am sitting still..
The hub and I are sitting in the airport, waiting to board our first flight to Texas and found myself pondering:
Couldn't they have named the spot where you wait for the plane ANYTHING but a
terminal????
Hummm....

Friday's Funnies
A woman gets home, screeches her car into the driveway, runs into the
house, slams the door and shouts to her husband at the top of her lungs,
"Pack your bags. I won the lottery!" The husband says, "Oh my God! What
should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?" "Doesn't matter," she says.
"Just get the hell out."

This week is flying by...
First, I have been working to much as usual then I am taking 3 days off this week to make a long weekend. We are going to Texas to see the NASCAR race. I have never been so this'll be cool.
Now it looks like I might be going to California for work next week...
Not that I am complaining, if I get to go it is in the San Francisco area. I have always wanted to go there even if it is for work...
So not much posting so far this week...
Please excuse!!!!

Broiled Parmesan Talapia
too good! low fat too! Well it can be if I say so can't it?
6 Talapia filets
Mix in a medium bowl:
1/2 c Parmesan Cheese (shredded)
1/4 cup butter softened
3T mayo
2t lemon juice
2t onion flakes
1/2 t basil
1/4 t pepper
1/8 t celery salt
set bowl aside.
Preheat oven to broil.
Spray a baking pan with Pam and lay the filets out in the pan trying not to overlap pieces. Broil one side of the fish 2 to 3 minutes. Take the pan out, turn the filets over and spoon the mixture over the fish filets and return to oven. Broil until it starts to turn golden. Takes about 3 to 5 minutes.
note: I sprinkled just a bit of Parmesan on top of the mixture before returning the filets to the oven.
Enjoy!

My Answers to Your Questions
If you had to be blind or deaf, which would you choose and why?
Even though I LOVE music, I would have to say deaf for 2 reasons..
a) I would rather be able to see my friends and family
and
b) I could always learn to read lips and sign.
What is the thing you love most about the Captain?
His bald head! Ha Ha
I love that he loves me for me in all my fast talking, semi-anal, sometimes forgetful, fast paced, occasionally creative self.
Your favorite all time CD that you would take on a deserted island?
Harry Nelsons “Lime in the Coconut” CD.
Joking…
The best of One Hit Wonders..
Joking again….
I don’t have ONE all time favorite but I guess I would have to say right now I would take the mix CD my sister made for my hitch’n to the Hub.
People would be shocked to learn that you __________.
Have my mother in a box in my closet. I also took her on a trip to the Florida Keys. In her box. With my sister and son.
What is the worst thing you've done while drunk?
Threw up out the window from the backseat of someone’s car I didn’t know.
That wasn’t too exciting was it…I’m a happy drunk.
If you were president, which famous (living) movie star or musician would you choose for VP?
The Donald.
Have you ever been arrested? If so, for what?
Ah ha, trying to be sneaky are we???
Yes, by the fashion police and many times actually. My picture used to be featured on the backs of many fashion magazines. You know the ones, where I had the black rectangle over my eyes so you couldn’t “see me”, yes, that was me. They had captions like:
“EWW! Don’t be caught dead like this”
“OMG, never do this .”
I got tired of the black box in my way and as I got older they got tired of me. Go Figure!
I was also once also arrested and jailed for a charity.
If you were a Disney or Loony Toons cartoon, which one would you be and why.
What are you talking about I am a Looney Tune! LMAO! (OK, maybe just looney)… I would be Jessica Rabbit, and do I have to answer why?? HELLO!!
Favorite "brand" of motorcycle?
Well as I am new at this free time activity I would have to say Honda as I have a Honda Shadow Ace 750. I sat on Kawasaki, Harley, etc, and the Honda had the best balance for me. And the seat was comfortable too.
Ever horsebacked?
Uhmmm……. I hope we are talking horses here…wink wink.. Yes, my family used to have horses for fun and I also used to show cows, Black Angus. I had a Shetland Pony until it bit me. I sold it and bought a 10 speed bike. My dad used to ride me horseback on his back when I was wee if that counts too!
Do you know where you're going to be when life passes by?
With the Hub, on a beach in Florida, wearing that all too small swimsuit that people my age shouldn’t wear, (with the prerequisite socks AND sandals), drinking adult alcoholic beverages. I know, I am going to hell, at least I have already made my handbasket.
What's your most favorite dinner meal?
Filet Mignon, Medium Rare, a good salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing, potato of any kind, Red wine (not too dry), and anything chocolate for dessert.

OK OK My 4 questions.........
From my sister, who got it from Sam at madlife:
Ask me 4 questions.
Any 4, no matter how personal, private or random. I have to answer them honestly. I have to answer them all. In turn, you post this message in your own blog or journal and you have to answer the questions that are asked of you.
C'mon! It'll be fun!
EF I am planning yours now!

The cat's away...
The mice will play!
And as for me I love it!
It all started on Friday..
Wicker and the morning show, Jeff, AJ, Neil and Skip, revolted. (Well Neil at first wasn't to hip on the idea, but anyhow, he soon jumped into the groove and started requeating his own songs.)
A bit of rebellion, damn the man, attitude took over as Skip the prize guy wanted to hear Wild Cherry, Play that Funky Music. It isn't on the playlist and was quickly "nipped in the bud". Until the listeners started calling in reguesting it.
That was it.
Listeners started e-mailing and calling in their requested songs, myself included. So Since 6 AM Friday morning, the Morning Show has been playing our requests. Some of the best, most diverse range of music I have heard since I left Texas.
OK most diverse is a wee bit exagerated....
I listened to the radio all day yesterday until, exhausted, I went to bed. I hated to turn it off. But much to my excitement, I got up this AM and they are still at it!
It's a great day for radio..
And I think a great idea for a radio station format.
I know they spend hundreds of thousands on surveys etc. to see what we "supposedly" want to hear. But they have never once asked me!
This should tell all the radio execs something..
Damn the Man!
Gotta go they are playing my song....
literally!

go listen and then e-mail their boss (MBRYAN@entercom.com) so they don't get the axe!

Friday's Funnies
Horseback Riding
A blonde had a near death experience the other day when she went horseback riding. Everything was going fine until the horse started bouncing out of control. She tried with all her might to hang on, but was thrown off.
With her foot caught in the stirrups, she fell head first to the ground. Her head continued to bounce on the ground as the horse did not stop or even slow down.
Just as she was giving up hope and losing consciousness, the Wal-Mart manager came out and unplugged the horse.

Things
You know, I added the thing in my sidebarthat gives anyone on my site the ability to see if anyone else is on my site..
just not who..
Now, when I get on and see someone else is on...
I wanna know who it is!
I need to find one that tells who it is.. or just take it off. It messes with my simple mind. LOL
I had a great Easter, how about you guys? My sister came up and we ate, watched movies, ate, played 20th anniversary Trivial Pursuit, ate.
You get the picture..
I sooooo need a new job. I am working way to much and feeling that any day the axe could fall.
We are going to Texas in a couple of weeks to go to Texas Motor Speedway and the Nascar race. It just happens to be at my son's birthday. He wants to go to Babes..
Yum

Just a bunch o s**t
Did you hear on the news that Newark used part of their money given them from the Justice Department earmarked for anti-terrorism to buy 2 new air conditioned trash trucks?
They can't understand why anyone is upset. After all they can be used to haul hazardous waste if we are attacked again..
The trucks are equipped with air conditioning, comfortable seating and power windows and cost $174,804 each.
Hum
A spokesman for the Homeland Security Office said if the money was from their office they would not have been able to buy trash trucks...
I can see it........

Friday's Funnies
A lawyer and a redhead are sitting next to each other on a long flight from LA to NY. The lawyer leans over to her and asks if she would like to play a fun game. The redhead just wants to take a nap, so she politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks.
The lawyer persists and explains that the game is really easy and a lot of fun. He explains: "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5, and visa-versa."
Again, she politely declines and tries to get some sleep.
The lawyer, now somewhat agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $50".
This catches the redhead's attention and, figuring that there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, she agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question: "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?"
The redhead doesn't say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a five-dollar bill and hands it to the lawyer.
Now, it's the redhead's turn. She asks the lawyer: "What goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down with four?"
The lawyer looks at her with a puzzled look. He takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references. He taps into the digital cell phone via infra-red wireless connection to his modem port and searches the Net and the Library of Congress. Frustrated, he sends E-mail to all his co-workers, friends, clients, and suppliers that he knows. And then some. All to no avail.
After over an hour, he wakes the redhead and hands her $50. The redhead politely takes the $50 and turns away to get back to sleep.
The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the redhead and asks, "Well, so what IS the answer?"
Without a word, the redhead reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5, and goes back to sleep.

Just doin' what the news tells me too....
Last night on the news one of the stories was about spring being here and doing your part to make sure mosquitoes don’t breed in your yard.
So
I posted little pics of me holding a bug light all over the yard saying “No Sex Here Suckers!”
Every few feet I posted little billboards with ads for:
Little Mosquito Condoms
Mosquito Birth control
And
Raid
Made a shopping list for today…
Magnifying glasses,
Micro exacto knife
Tweezers
mawaaa ha ha
(think about it...)
Then I posted my shopping list outside...
For all fly by's to see.
I also found myself pondering these things:
Can mosquitoes get hung up like dogs?
If I squirted them with the water hose, like my momma did the neighbors dogs (she told me where just playing leap frog by the way), would they drown or fall into the puddle I made and be VERY FRUITFUL?
Do mosquitoes have little mosquito prostitutes with little mosquito pimps driving little mosquito Cadillac’s? I can just here that, "Yo Bitch, give me my money!", in that annoying, high pitched buzzing tone.
Can they “do it” on the fly?
Can you tell it was late and I was tired?

The right to life , the right to die
We have all heard a lot about Terri Shiavo, her condition, her parents and husbands fight over her life. We can all go online and find pro’s and con’s to what is going on today. examples here and here.
I, myself, would never want to be in her condition, and I do find it sad that the courts have intervened for many reasons. It does though, make quite the point for having a living will, and they can be filed for any doctor or hospital use here.
But first, what happened to Terri? A supposed potassium level condition brought on her heart failure, leading to her diagnosis of being in a Persistant Vegetative State Rumors have it that the condition could be because of anorexia or bulimia. So far online and in the news, I haven’t seen where anyone in the family agrees that she had an eating disorder, but if you read the last link on this blog, signs point that way. But, does it really matter why? It happened and she became like she is regaurdless. There have been doctors testify there is no hope yet others testify there is. What faith do you but in that when these days for money, publicity or whatever, your lawyer can find a doctor somewhere to back up your story or beliefs.
Timeline
In other speculations people have said her husband Micheal Shiavo, beat her and her condition was the result of some part of a beating with strangulation. That he doesn't want her coming out of this state for fear she will tell on him. Wouldn’t you think the EMT’s who came to her aid that fateful day, would have seen those signs (bloodshot eyes, marks around the neck etc). Also if there was any question of this happening would you not think that it would have been brought out in the lawsuit against her doctors for not diagnosing her condition? They won 1 million dollars for her being mis-diagnosed. More debating goes on as to where that money really went but it appears it has mostly gone to pay for this legal battle.
What is a Persistant Vegetative State: (quoted from another link) Sometimes, following a coma, a person may enter what is known as a persistent vegetative state; patients in persistent vegetative state have lost all cognitive neurological function but are still able to breathe and may exhibit various spontaneous movements. They may even be awake and appear to be normal but, because the cognitive part of their brain no longer functions, they are not able to respond to their environment. A vegetative state can last for years.
Can last for years.
WOW!
Have you heard about Sarah Scatlin?
Can you imagine “waking up” after 20 years?
The husband: He says it is a matter of a promise he made to Terri.
Is he, Michael Schiavo, a champion for his wife? Trying to keep a promise made that he (and a few others) supposedly heard her say? He has turned down repeated offers of substantial sums to back away from his fight, all refused. He says it isn’t the money, yet a promise he made to her. Her parents and others fault him for “moving on” and having a family.
The parents: I can certainly understand the emotional, physical, mental bonds of a parent. I have seen parents hold on to that what ifs and wanting the best for their child. Hell I would want that for my child. Who wants to give up any hope!
If you use Sarah Scatlins case again, when do you draw the line?
Have they both turned this into a fight amongst themselves and who is right?
Polls taken recently seem to think the government should not br involved in Terri's case.
Will she feel anything or have pain? Studies show, that when that part of the brain dies, there is no sense of pain or suffering. Are they sure? I saw the news the other night when they showed her brain, or lack of brain tissue. All signs point to her not having feeling and not coming out of this state. How many people have come out of this state and been able to tell anyone how they feel?
What if the media never got involved in the first place? This would already be over.
What if the government wasn’t “butting in”? This would be over
What if she had said she didn’t want to live that way?
What if she had a living will? No one would be in the position they are in.
What if she does come out of her vegetative state to some degree?
Will she have enough knowledge to be glad or sad at where she is?
So many questions, so few straight forward answers in a case like this.
Except one.
I do not what to live that way.
Ever.
What did Terri want?
This is the 3rd time her tube has been removed.
The third time her body starts shutting down.
God I wish she could talk..
end note: a thousand words about Terri Schiavo
I, myself, would never want to be in her condition, and I do find it sad that the courts have intervened for many reasons. It does though, make quite the point for having a living will, and they can be filed for any doctor or hospital use here.

Spare the rod and spoil the child?
Today's "call in topic" on my early morning ride to work was rather you should or should not spank your child.
What? I didn't know there was a choice!
I don't agree with beating a child. leaving marks or getting so mad you take your anger out with your hand or other things.
I also think things have gotten way out of hand when if you are seen spanking your child and you are afraid someone will turn you in to child welfare.
We are talking a spanking here, not beating..
I was suprised at how many called in that they would not or did not spank their kids.
WHAT?
It is a natural instinct for children to test their boundries. As they get older their tests get stretched a little farther, and farther, and farther. If all they get is a "talking to" or told to "sit out" till they can play fair. What are we telling our kids?
"Oh if I get caught cheating on my test, and dad finds out all I will get is a "talking to""
or
"Smoke some pot? why not, if mom finds out I will get sent to my room and I can use the "quiet time""
That has to lead to bad things.
Every offense is not a spankable offense but at times I do believe it is called for. I was spanked and if most of the parents where honest so where they. I wasn't spanked at every offense, but if it was serious and I didn't obey, or had done it before and been warned. The worst thing I had to do was get my own switch. That made it all the worse and my parents knew that. I don't want to beat children and I am not mentally scarred. I DO know right from wrong and wrongs have an effect and it ain't the silent treatment.
I spanked my son and he is no worse for the wear. He is a good kid putting his self though college.
Majority of teenagers now have no respect. For things, elders, people in general, etc. Have you seen many help an old person? Pull over when a funeral is passing? Understand the power of working for a living?
Hummm I wonder why.
Many people my age are of the baby boomer age and wanting to give their kids a better life since the majority of baby boomers can afford it. They have been given cars, money, credit cards..
What is this really teaching them? That everything should be handed to them? That there are no repercussions to doing bad things?
Seems to me it has gotten a little worse year by year.
I was 16 before I could wear make up. Now 13 year olds look over 18.
I got a car at 15 only because I qualified for a hardship license (I worked after school. I also had to make my own [horror] carpayment. Now most every teen has a new ride.
One lady at work can barely make it back and forth in her 80 model car, but her daughter is sure doing well in her 2004 model. AND she bitches when she has to help her mom. Mom can't afford a newer car right now cause she has to many other bills. One of them being her daughters car payment. What is wrong with this picture?
I guess I could go on and on but...
I was spanked and I didn't turn out so bad, did you? Did you really?
This is my opinion and my opinion only. I am of age. I am entitled to it. It's my right
Feel free to disagree, as I am sure many will. It's your right.
But you won't change my mind. Proof is in the pudding so to speak.
"...optimal disciplinary responses begin with less severe tactics, such as reasoning, but proceed to firmer disciplinary tactics when the initial tactic achieves neither compliance nor an acceptable compromise." from Robert Larzelere, Boys' Home

Today I drove in Canada
Not physically,
Let me explain.
The hub and I where making some adjustments in our bills. I sold my truck, took over his car and he got a Kia Amanti.
His caris was a Chrysler Pacifica.
If you call it a mini van I will kill you.. its NOT a minivan! LOL
Anyway, I get a new ride, get to help him and since I had equity in my truck, we get to pay uncle sam! cha!
Anyway I degress.
Sunday when he went to play with the boys, (pool and a round of hooters) I cleaned and shined it up. Wet Tire on the wheels, STP on the dash and all the plastic accents, vacumn the hell out of it..
Monday was my first day to drive it "offically". I am on my way to work and look down and FREAK OUT!!! I am going 120! But there is no way I am going that fast as I am not passing cars at an unbelievable rate.
OMG it is 2c outside!
And my milage has shot WAY up..
WTF!
My head is spinning!
What did I do!
OMG I screwed it up!
Finally I figure out that I must have hit some button in my cleaning endevours that changed the measurements to metric. (Those crafty people at Chrysler being so flexable as they are.) If I lived on a border state I could really use this feature...
So I look around at the dials and switches and can't figure it out. Besides I can't fix that now driving down the road so I just float along and guess how fast I am going..la de da....here me whistle...
Got to work..
Found the button..
Fixed it..
made fun of myself all day!

Sunday Afternoon
The hub went for a round or two of pool and a trip to hooters this afternoon with his guy friends and I was looking forward to the time to write. I wanted to work on my story, but it was a beautiful day.
Sun shining,
blue skies,
65 to 70 degrees
and a slight crisp breeze.
So I couldn't resist and spent most of my time outside. I cleaned my car, cruised the Sonic and got a Cherry-Vanilla Dr. Pepper, sat on my back porch and vegged. I cracked the windows open and the cats spent most of the afternoon sitting in them. I came in and ate a piece of cake, yum!!!
The boys took a nap...
Now it is dark and there is lightening on the horizon and the sound of thunder in the air. My wind chimes are going CRAZY!!! Rain to sleep by..
Ah the loveliness of Sunday.
Hope yours was as good.
See ya Monday!

Friday Funnies
CORPORATE ZODIAC
MARKETING: You are ambitious yet stupid. You chose a marketing degree to avoid having to study in college, concentrating instead on drinking and socializing - which is pretty much what your job responsibilities are now. Least compatible with Sales.
SALES: Laziest of all signs, often referred to as "marketing without a degree", you are also self-centered and paranoid. Unless someone calls you and begs you to take their money, you like to avoid contact with "customers" so you can "concentrate on the big picture". You seek admiration for your golf game throughout your life.
TECHNOLOGY: Unable to control anything in your personal life, you are instead content to completely control everything that happens at your workplace. Often even YOU don't understand what you are saying, but who the hell can tell?! It is written that the Geeks shall inherit the Earth.
ENGINEERING: One of only two signs that actually studied in school, it is said that ninety percent of all Personal Ads are placed by engineers. You can be happy with yourself: your office is typically full of all the latest "ergodynamic" gadgets. However, we all know what is really causing your "carpal tunnel"...
ACCOUNTING: The only other sign that studied in school, you are mostly immune from office politics. You are the most feared person in the organization; combined with your extreme organizational traits, the majority of rumors concerning you say that you are completely insane.
HUMAN RESOURCES: Ironically, given your access to confidential information, you tend to be the biggest gossip within the organization. Possibly the only other person that does less work than marketing, you are unable to return any calls today because you have to get a haircut, have lunch, AND mail a letter!
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT/ DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT/ "TEAM LEADS": Catty, cut-throat, yet completely spineless, you are destined to remain at your current job for the rest of your life. Unable to make a single decision you tend to measure your worth by the number of meetings you can schedule for yourself. Best suited to marry other "Middle Managers", as everyone in your social circle is a "Middle Manager".
SENIOR MANAGEMENT: Catty, cut-throat, yet completely spineless, you are destined to remain at your current job for the rest of your life. Unable to make a single decision you tend to measure your worth by the number of meetings you can schedule for yourself. Best suited to marry other "Senior Managers", as everyone in your social circle is a "Senior Manager".
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Bright, cheery, positive, you are a fifty-cent cab ride from jumping off a cliff. As a child, very few of you asked your parents for a little cubicle for your room and a headset so you could pretend to play "Customer Service". Continually passed over for promotions, your best bet is to sleep with your manager.

American Idol - The Guys
Is it me or are the guys much better than the girls this year? Makes me kinda wonder why it has to be 6 girls and 6 guys in the top 12.
Last night they were a weeeeee bit disappointing though.
Bo Bice has been one of my favorites and after last night we certianly know he is Simons also. Anwar knocked it out of the park last night and he is got the looks too. Anthony is good too and I wish they would quit comparing him to Clay, athough I don't think he will win, I think he would make a good recording artist..
Are you watching? What do you think?

Friday's Funnies
10 Fun Things To Do In An Elevator...
1. Grimace painfully while smacking your forehead and muttering: "Shut up, dammit, all of you just shut UP!"
2. Crack open your briefcase or purse, and while peering inside ask: "Got enough air in there?"
3. When arriving at your floor, grunt and strain to yank the doors open, then act embarrassed when they open by themselves.
4. On the highest floor, hold the door open and demand that it stay open until you hear the penny you dropped down the shaft go "plink" at the bottom.
5. Holler "Chutes away!" whenever the elevator descends.
6. Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce "You're one of THEM!" and move to the far corner of the elevator.
7. Wear a puppet on your hand and talk to other passengers "through" it.
8. Say "Ding!" at each floor.
9. Draw a little square on the floor with chalk and announce to the other passengers that this is your "personal space."
10. Make explosion noises when anyone presses a button.
11. Stop at every floor, run off the elevator, then run back on

Ramblings and Irony
Is it me or is it a bit of irony that the theme song to "The Apprentice" is For the Love of Money by the O-Jays?!?! (I like the show by the way, but not as much as Lost.)

A conversation between my son and my self last Friday night
I call him
Ring ring
Son: YO
Mom: What are you doing?
Son: Resting and doing nothing before I go to work
Mom: Well listen, I am at Dillards and they are having a fantastic sale. What are the colors that you have to wear to work now?
Son: Khaki pants and black shirt
Mom:What size are your pants
Son: I don’t know 34 X 34 I think
Mom: OH, Look at this shirt (me to the hub)
(Then to my son) Would you wear any polo type shirts? Here are some really marked down in green and blue and…
Son: Mom I am really a T shirt and jeans kind of guy for school, between that and work I don’t wear anything else. And you know how you and Lisa are about buying me clothes...
Mom: I hardly ever buy you clothes because you are so picky.. but this is free, what up with that??
then
Mom: OH here are some Khaki’s these say 36 X 34, but I think they are tagged wrong and are 34’s. I will get them and send them to you. If they are to big I will pay for alterations as these are cheap enough. Besides for work who will notice.
Son: Mom, I can’t be looking scrungy and all…
This from a T shirt and jeans kind of guy…

The Oscars
As much as I didn't really care to, I watched. The WHOLE thing.
First thing I have to say is GO Cate Blanchett!!! I love her, especially in Bandits.
Anyway, here is a few things I either noticed or where left wondering...
Noticed:
As you get older your boobs point south, both a hint that it is time to retire in Florida and WEAR A BRA MELANIE. I am no critic but that was just gross.
That it appears Jamie Foxx has a thing for Oprah. humm
Renee Zellweger has gone goth.
Having babies adds to the bust line, you go Julia!
Having babies does not add to the bustline, Sorry Gwenyth.
Hilary Swank has headlights, although I didn't really get the dress, maybe with a different neckline..
Things I am left wondering:
Was this the Beyonce show? 3 songs? What gives with that? She is good and all but variety is the spice of life.
This is what you worked for as a set designer, sound person, etc. You moment has come and you either get to stand on the stage with everyone else nominated or stand in the aisle and give your speach... HUH???
and most of all..
Why do we give the presenters and winners a gift basket worth over $100,000 or more when the are either:

Friday Funnies
It has been one of those weeks for me. A week that nothing is organized, etc. I have a few good ideas for posts in my head but just can't seem to get them on paper. So hope is on that the weekend and next week is better. And for today, a joke, a little dumb as it may be....
working in the dark
I decided that I needed a few days off and I realized that I ran out of vacation time already. I figured the best way to get the boss to send me home was to act a little crazy. I figured he'd think I was burning out and give me some time off.
I went into work early and began hanging upside down from the ceiling. Just then one of my coworkers (she's blonde.....it'll be important later) came in and asked me what I was doing.
"Shh", I said, "I'm acting crazy to get a few days off. I'm a light bulb." A second later the Boss walked by and asked me what I was doing.
"I'm a light bulb!" I exclaimed.
"You're crazy," he said. "Take a few days off."
With that, I jumped down and started walking out.
The blonde started following me and the Boss asked where she was going.
"I can't work in the dark," she said.

Friday's Funnies
A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer who was also a blonde. The blonde cop asked to see the blonde driver's license. She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated.
"What does it look like?" she finally asked.
The policewoman replied, "It's square and it has your picture on it."
The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it and handed it to the policewoman.
"Here it is," she said.
The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying, "Okay, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop."

My grandmothers clock
It's a beautiful, old, chime wall clock, about 2 foot tall. Shiny black case, with white face and black old script type of numbers. The hands are black and sort of ornate. The pendulum is silver and shows through clear glass with silver trim. It hasn't run in years.
I got the clock when my grandmother passed away oh so many years ago. She was my rock. I put it on the wall in my home in Texas where it did run for a while. Until that fateful day I decided tomove to Florida. I packed it carefully in a box amongst pillows and 2 really soft coats that I had. I wrote all over the box in bold black letters..
THIS SIDE UP
FRAGILE
DROP IT AND YOU DIE
LOL
In Florida it never really got unpacked, but I had the box in a special secure place. Every once in a while I would look in the box and check on it. Yep, it was still OK.
So a little over a year ago I moved to North Carolina. After I got all settled in, I got the clock out and to my dismay it didn't run. I took the clock to a jewelers that works on old clocks. They asked to keep it and would give me a call with the estimates of repairs. About a week later the jeweler called and asked me if the clock had been in water, I said “No, but I just moved here from Florida.”, he laughed and responded with a “Enough said, humidity equals rust, that explains it.” And a “Repairs will be $150.”
I swallowed and said “OK!”
So last Friday they are finally done with the clock and I went to get it after work. I hung it back up in the kitchen. Wound it a bit and started it up.
I finally got to bed Friday night, the hub already asleep. I laid down, settled in under the covers when I heard it. That familiar tick tock of my grandmothers clock and I had forgotten what a nice chime it had.
I was suddenly and quickly awash with memories, emotions, smells even. All of my grandmother, her cooking and sleeping over at her house. I could have sworn she was right there.
It was strangely comforting.
I slept so good Friday night......

A creative bone...
I was looking at an old clock that I have in the bathroom and got to daydreaming about a Mixed media photography picture I wanted to do. There is was a really great barn just down from me, I believe I have wrote about it before. It was the Loflin's barn, and had been there since about 1870.
They burned it down much to my dismay...
The historical society couldn't save it. Money couldn't save it. I wish you could have gone in it with me. It was unbelievable...See me shaking my head...
So that lead to my recent daydreaming. I wanted to portray time passing, old things that should stay around don't, and, well you get the picture..(pun)
I got an old barn wood frame about 18 X 24. I used colored glass beads of brown and 2 shades of green and glued them to the outside frame glass as a tree growing on the left side. (There was a tree, on the left. It is gone now too.) I also printed 3 smaller color shots, one of the silos, one of the unique round room attached and one of what was left after the burning. I am using parts of a broken clock in it also.
Ironically, what was left is gone now too. Condos are going in. I guess they don't need trees and or a really unique building at the entrance.
So anyway, I took a black and white slide I had taken early one morning when I first heard they where going to burn it, and tried a couple of different developments. I chose the one I did as to me and the hub it sort of evoked a "ghost of"
Look below, what do you think?

A Ramble for Thursday
Adelphia Cable has triple X porn and we all should be ashamed! Hark! Everyone batten down the hatches and sign the petition to have this REMOVED or we are going to HELL!
I got an e-mail at work Tuesday and it proceeded to tell me all about Adelphia, XXX movies, how I should feel, and that it is going to ruin the moral fiber of today's youth.
Who are they to tell me how I feel? I am not going to lie and say I have never seen one. I have. Would I watch one again? Maybe, maybe not. Don't get me wrong, I am not a porn star, nor do I know any or support any, and I am not sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for whomever is the top star of the moment, to release their new video. But after reading this article I was a little irate. I am an adult, I should be smart enough and strong enough to make up my own mind. I don't know, If they start with a pay cable access thing, what will be next.
Of course getting a little irate strikes up a few questions in my mind..
Like:
Isn't this a pay service?
Aren't there such things as parental lock outs on TV's, cable boxes and such now days?
Don't you get access to it if you want it and want to pay for it?
Could it be that people now days don't have the time or take the time to look out for their kids? Take the time to wonder where they are and what they are doing?
Why are we picking on Adelphia? They for sure aren't the only ones out there offering this service.
If you don't want it, don't pay for it or watch it..
It is out there for free. On the streets, on the web...
Some places will rent it to anyone regardless of your age.
Some people recruit kids for it.
Pimps beat up women daily.
Shouldn't this be where these people should start?
Hasn't Porn in some form or fashion been around for ages? Adult porn, however right or wrong it may be, is just that. ADULTS. OF AGE. Some a little slow in the head and not making wise life choices but it is their life. They will have to answer for it themselves. They are going to ply their trade one way or the other and some people are going to get it one way or another.
Obviously there is a demand for it or Adelphia and others would not be doing it.
Talk openly with your kids and best you can direct them in life.
Once they get a certain age, you have no control anyway, but can hope what you gave as guidance will be there for them.
Don't subscribe, use parental locks, be there for your kids
Less demand, less money to be made, less availability.
Better yet, turn the TV off and take your kids to a park.

For Tuesday, a Tickle...
I recieved an e-mail today that really is getting me going and I will post on that later, but for now, another joke I heard today that is really funny..
My sister should appreciate it also!!
Feline Heaven
A cat dies and goes to Heaven. God meets him at the gate and says, "You have been a good cat all of these years. Anything you desire is yours, all you have to do is ask."
The cats says, "Well, I lived all my life with a poor family on a farm and had to sleep on hardwood floors."
God says, "Say no more." And instantly, a fluffy pillow appears.
A few days later, 6 mice are killed in a tragic accident and they go to Heaven. God meets them at the gate with the same offer that He made the cat. The mice said, "All our lives we've had to run. Cats, dogs and even women with brooms have chased us. If we could only have a pair of roller skates, we wouldn't have to run anymore."
God says, "Say no more." And instantly, each mouse is fitted with a beautiful pair of tiny roller skates.
About a week later, God decides to check and see how the cat is doing. The cat is sound asleep on his new pillow. God gently wakes him and asks, "How are you doing? Are you happy here?"
The cat yawns and stretches and says, "Oh, I've never been happier in my life. And those Meals on Wheels you've been sending over are the best!"

Fridays Funnies
Bubba died in a fire and his body was burned pretty badly. The morgue needed someone to identify the body, so they sent for his two best friends, Darryl and Gomer. The three men had always done everything together.
Darryl arrived first and when the mortician pulled back the sheet. Darryl said,"Yup, his face is burned up pretty bad. You better roll him over." The mortician rolled him over, and Darryl said,"Nope, ain't Bubba."
The mortician thought this was rather strange.
Then he brought Gomer in to identify the body. Gomer looked at the body and said, "Yup, he's pretty well burnt up. Roll him over." The mortician rolled him over and Gomer said, "no, it ain't Bubba." The mortician asked, "How can you tell?"
Gomer said, "Well, Bubba had two assholes. "What? He had two assholes?' asked the mortician. Yup, I've never seen 'em, but everyone knew he had two assholes. Every time we went to town, folks would say, "Here comes Bubba with them two assholes."

Wednesday's Wonderings..
In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

A Quiet Sunday AM
So we got a lot of ice and very little snow yesterday afternoon and last night. I woke up today feeling better than I have in several mornings. In true Sunday tradition I made coffee and turned the TV to CBS Sunday Morning. I repeat my self from previous posts here, but I love that show. Informative, short stories on current events and culture.
Today one of the stories was about the voting today going on overseas for the Muslim Shi-ites. Watching this story I was inclined to start thinking, what I know you are going to say has been thought before by many others. We here in the US take so much for granted. We have the right to vote and have had this privilege for a while now. Many Americans don't use that right and of those many don't care that we have that right. But as I watch these people on TV, risking their lives to vote, to cast their ballots, a tear started in my eye. Knowing that with the mark of ink on their finger could mean their life later, as the aggressors have made everyone quite aware that they would be looking for the sign of an inked finger later, and that it would be a mark of shame. People were walking out of the polling places, holding that finger up proudly and that caused quite the emotional stir in me this AM. One man interviewed had lost his brother who fought for the right to vote and for that man, taking his own life in his hands to go vote was his way to honor his brother.
As another group of 3 women walked to a polling place, mortar shells where going off nearby, the women never flinched but kept on walking to the polling place. The TV camera woman broadcasting nearby jumped and sucked slightly. One man standing near her reached out and touched her arm as if to say, "It's OK". He never flinched or ducked either. Can you imagine being numb to explosions and gunfire? I can't. I can't help but think about how easy we have it here. All we have to put up with at the polling places, if we chose to use that right to vote, is the local political groups handing out flyers. I myself have voted ever since I have been of age to vote. I don't always like particular contenders, sometimes neither contender, but I vote.
The hell in this country across the seas is far from over, and may never be over, but I can't help but think how brave these people are to be voting today. I wish it would effect more Americans the way it did me this morning. Our forefathers too fought for the right to vote. Women fought for the right to vote. Ethnic denominations have fought for the right to vote, yet every race, color, sex, creed has many people who don't care to use the right anymore.
My mother was big into politics so maybe this is why I feel like I do. I marched and carried my sign though many a political rally as a young girl. One sign I made even got me on local TV news coverage. My mother taught me that voting is something you should want to do, feel honored to do, and you have to do if you expected the right to bitch about whom was elected.
I can't imagine the turmoil overseas happening here but I guess it could if enough people quit using that right that was fought for by so many.
Feel like dipping?
Tonight I am taking the hub to dinner. I tried to get us in this place about 2 weeks ago for valentines but they where already booked until 10PM and this isn't a place I wanna eat at 10PM! You are sooooo full you want to be rolled out! We where calling it our "Mystery Date" until he figured out where we were going. Now we call it ou "Not a Mystery Date". Funny, I made reservations for tonight and Valentines at the same time and almost told him where valentines was going to be at cause I thought he would nwever figure tonight out...Oh well...
My mom first exposed me to fondue and I fell in love. Later in life to find a restaurant that serves it was fan-freakin-tabulous! It is amazing though, how many people have never had it! OMG You have to have the chocolate dessert if nothing else!
Anyway, I got the hub and I in another place for Valentines. He has no clue where that is so I hope to keep it that way!
It is supposed to snow and ice here tomorrow, could be fun. I bet you I will etill be full too.
OH and tomorrow we are supposed to go to Outback for a couple of friends birthdays!
There goes the 6 pounds I have lost since the first of the year!

A Showing
Well the house was MLS listed Tuesday evening. The realtor came out Wednesday and took some of those "virtual tour" pics of the house. Those where posted yesterday and last night we got a call wanting to show the house today at 1:30. I am not getting my hopes up. I know how this can go...
But it was rather exciting to get a call so quick...
She was supposed to come out Tuesday and do the virtual tour pics...Monday night we cleaned and made sure everything was put up, nothing out of place, etc...
So now the tour has a few flaws..ha ha..
My coat on a bar stool, cat bowl in the floor, bread on the counter... I know, horrors, but if you have ever had a house on the market they tell you to make things spotless, less cluttered, picture perfect. Did you know people would rather buy a house unfurnished? I wouldn't... room sizes can be deceiving. I would rather see how much room is left AFTER furniture BEFORE buying....
But we all know I am not normal..
SO...Wanna be nosey? Leave me a comment with your e-mail and if the
e-mail/commenting gaurdian king says you are a friend, LOL, I will send you the web address to our virtual tour...

The Sign is Out...
our house is officially for sale and I have mixed feelings about it. The realtor came by tonight, we covered the contract, dotted the "i's" and signed our lives away.
This house is more than I could ever hope for in a home, in a great neighborhood, all the yards are big, everything is landscaped...
Toughest of all for me is we got married here. That's a big one.
We decided to sell the house and downsize, (which this house is HUGE for just 2 people, inside and out), and free up a lot of our resources..
our time
our money
etc
I know a house doesn't make a home, but I can't help but have some stong feelings for this one as so much good that has happened for me lately comes from this house.
Now,
The house we like is a very nice house also and I know we will make it a home. The neighborhood is nice, smaller yards, closer together..and we may not get that one as we do have to sell this one first. So I can't get to excited about that.
But a small neighborhood might be nice, I would like to know my neighbors. We gave her a sarting bid on the new house with a "contengency" of course on selling ours, and got that process started.
I just wonder if I can add in the sale contract of our hosue now a clause, visiting rights if you will, every Labor day....
deep sigh....:-|

A Passing of one of my Hero's
Johnny Carson died today of emphysema. I grew up with Johnny, watching at first on the Friday nights I got to stay up late at home, then as I branched out to having my own home.
As I got older I would watch when I could, seeing we do all have to work you know.
Steve Martin got his start there, along with Bette Midler, Joan Rivers to name a few. Tiny Tim got married to Miss Vicki on the show. I always thought that was one weird dude, sort of my generations version of William Hung.
I remember his "Carnac the Magnificent" routines and Jack Hanna visiting with all his animal friends. Some of whom where not very "polite" to Johnny. I remember his last show, Bette sang him a song that was both funny and appropriate for the night. When he signed off, close to tears, hell I shed them.
He died at home with family and friends at the age of 79. I hope he enjoyed his life as he helped me enjoy mine..
Goodnight Johnny.
My hats off to you..

Dreams cont'd
The gun shots where in rapid, short groups. It was a natural reflex for us to duck and we did. Children started crying.
Several men pushed and shoved their way onto the plane. They were all dressed in Khaki colored clothes and all looked dirty. They were yelling at us but we couldn't understand a word they said. I was starting to panic along with several others. They would yell at someone and when they didn't respond, the men would hit them with the butt of their gun rather they where a man or a woman, young or old.
The ones at the exit door would yell at whomever was there then shove them out the door. We finally got the idea that they wanted us off the plane. I held onto my husband tightly and as we passed the men they spoke to us in such a tone you didn't have to understand what they where saying to realize that they did not like us at all. Somehow I knew this wasn't going to end well. We got off the plane and started walking straight out, away from the plane. There where so many of these people, they where everywhere. It was like they knew this was going to happen, had planned for it and where ready.
The smell of fuel was heavy in the air, pungent, almost to the point of making you sick. I looked back at the plane, it looked like a discarded, dirty, broken toy. One of the men walking beside me spoke to me harshly and shoved me with his gun, I clung tighter to my husband. The sound of all these people yelling was deafening. They yelled and yelled all the while raising their guns in the air.
We where a prize.
We where herded into a circle and once we all grouped up the men surrounded us. We could hear a lot of commotion and a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment pulled over to the plane. We could see those men jump off their rides and like a well oiled machine started taking the plane apart piece by piece. We where yelled at again and the men pushed and prodded us to turn around. We got the message and did. The men started walking through our group separating the women and children from the men. Some families and couples resisted. This was met with either fierce strikes or outright fist hits to anyone resisting in any way.
I started crying even harder as I knew if they separated my husband and I, we would more than likely never see each other again. They came our way and I could hear myself saying "No, No!" as I was wrangled from my hold on my husband.
They marched the men off in one direction. I stood there crying desperately along with most of the other women and children. I caught the glance of a woman standing by me and with a look we both acknowledged our desperation.
We where directed to move in the opposite direction and they walked us down the
They took us to what appeared to once have been someone's home. It was bare of any furniture, the windows where gone and all the lights had been knocked out. It was quite dark inside and we all huddled up together. Some of the women went to trying to console the children, others started trying to assist anyone that was wounded.
After a bit some of the native women came in carrying folded material. Everything on them was covered except for their eyes. They did not speak to us nor would they look us in the eyes. They laid the material down and promptly left the room. We all looked at each other afraid to move. One of the ladies got up and went over to the piles of cloth. She unfolded one and it appeared to be native dress. We heard footsteps and we looked at the door. An elderly woman came in and spoke to us in very broken English.
"You have 5 minutes to change your clothes into one of those. Place your clothes in a pile. The children are fine as they are"
It seemed we all started talking to her at once trying to find out what was going on.
She uttered "Just do it now and we might spare you another day." and left the room.
Everyone started to change, some of us hid our jewelry in our shoes and bras. I noticed one lady just sitting there. Another lady was trying to get her to change and she just sat their defiantly.
In about 10 minutes the group of native ladies came back in the room and started gathering our clothes. They noticed the one lady who didn't change and they all looked at each other and a couple of them spoke quietly to each other and hurried out of the room. Immediately after the elder woman came back with two men. They said nothing as they headed toward the woman who wouldn't change. They grabbed her by the arms and she started fighting them as they drug her off. Somehow I knew and I think we all knew she wouldn't be back. We heard a lot of noise outside and more gun shots. We could see out the windows and off on the horizon we could see them separating a wing from the plane and loading it on a truck.
I wondered if I would ever see my husband again and decided at that moment that I had to separate my mind from his place..
Then I woke up with a loud "WTF was that....!"
anyone dare an interpretations?
