When your with out your purse, you need a dollar, with out your car at a party, and it sucks but it is way to far to walk, you ALWAYS carry yor camera, but this time.. Not... and you need it?
I was on the way home today and I saw a sign sign that said..
Pumkin for sale
The K was backwards and the hand writting was, well, lacking to say the least.
(Please note there was no s on pumkin)
I look up the hill and into the yard and I see, oh, probably about four or five HUNDRED pumpkins.
And if you know me, you know what I thought next...
Is this a trick?
Which pumpkin is for sale?
Why are they only selling one pumpkin?
If I stop and go up in the yard and pick the one.. right... over ... there (see me stretch and point)
Will they stand up and laugh a half hardy - half evil laugh and yell out "WRONG! Go fish!"
What would I have to fish for in a sea of pumpkins?
The Evil Pumkin Charlie Brown?
What card would be dealt me next?
All those thoughts
And no camera..

Fall Is Here!
Fall, ah in all it's glory!
The cool days and crisp nights. They turning of the leaves. Sleeping with the windows cracked and snuggling under warm downy quilts.
I opened my bedroom window last night just a bit, enough to let in the outside air. I jumped in the bed and the sheets where cool to the touch of my skin. I pulled up the new down filled quilt we had recently purchased. (On clearance no less, is there ever a better word that 75%off?)
He jumped in the bed and came over as close to me as he could get. I looked at him, our noses touching.
"Meow", he says looking at me like, well, a cat. A cat with that look on his face. You know the one. If he where human he would have his head slightly down, looking up at you with those eyes, his lower lip pursed... yeah that one.
I slide down a little more in the bed, flatten out my pillow and I can hear the purring start. He goes to the top of my head, stepping on my hair mind you and I try not to get aggrivated at him for that.
He gets as close to my head as he can.
He lays down curling around my head.
His belly is at the top of my head and the purring is echoing in my brain. He uses his nose and works his head under my hair. He purrs contently for about 10 minutes before he goes to sleep.
He is an Orange Tabby cat. I have red hair. I wonder, "If someone turned the light on would it look like I have on a hat? Or had lots of hair? Or had a huge growth? Or maybe a B-52 hairdo? Would he be lost up there, mixed up in all the mingled red hair?"
Hummm.
He is in kitty paradise.
Ah, fall, a season I love.

I am not sure how I feel about this. I am busy for a month, I come back to blog world and Belle de Jour is blogging no more. I would say she sold out, but hell, if I wrote that well I would damn sure jump on that bandwagon!
It is a sad day, a sad day

HI!
I'm back!!
Least I hope so.
Wedding is over, but my life hasn't seemed to settled down yet..
I have some things I want to post that may or may not interest everyone but what the hay...
like some of my families genealogy, more stories, excerps out of a journal that I had found and it is from back in the 1880's to the 1900's, and some just crap!
Todays crap...
This is first of the month, an accounting nightmare week. Today I was working my arse off cause I wanted to leave at 4. Not that I go in every day at 7 counts... anyway, I was rush, rush, rush trying to all my stuff done. At 4:15 I succeeded in my hopes of leaving early. I bent down to get my purse off the floor and I hear
RRRRRIIIIIIIPPPPPP
Oh Oh
I stood up and felt the seam of my jeans and everything felt OK.. So I was thinking...OK it ahs to be small and I am on my way home anyway. So off I go. Once I get outside I feel a cool draft.
Lo and behold my pants are split by my pocket...about 8 inches!
Thank god I didn't wear my thong today! That would be GROOOOSSS!!
So now I have one pair of jeans and payday isn't for another week!... oh well!!
So theres some crap!
Later!!!!!!1

Friday - Friday
Friday R and R went golfing early in the AM. T, E and I had planned to have breakfast so we went the back roads to Assboro (Asheboro) so they could see the Uwharrie Mountians. Pretty road, beautiful drive. J slept in, she isn't a morning person anyway, but was especially tired after the drive up from A on Thursday, then being up late going to the Airport to get E.
We went to I-HOP. I know, there are I-HOPS everywhere, but Assboro lacks for quaint eating establishments. We had a fine breakfast of the "Friday Special for 3.99". I had heard of a cool antique shop in downtown assboro and so after eating our fine I-HOP fare, we wandered over.
Can I say an OMG it was to die for!!! I will be going back. Back in Texas the term "Antique Store" has turned into more of a junk shop. I guess all of the good antiques are sold and that is all that is left. Anyway, I degress...
This shop was pack full of stuff! It was set up for people to rent spaces and rent they did. I don't think there was an empty spot in the place. The shop is in an old 2 story building and the mini-shops fill both floors. Everytime we thought we where almost thru, we would round another corner and a new room filled with things to see would appear. The most unique thing I think we saw was an antique jugglers case complete with wooden pins, wooden rings and hatchets! We just hit the high spots in there and spent a good 2.5 hours.
The caterers called and wanted to come set up the tent, so much to my dismay, we finished up and headed home.
The caterers arrived and set up the tent saying they would return Monday to take it down. Cool!! Think I am not getting my moneys worth out of this puppy you are wrong!
R and R where back from golfing and they set up out tent for the caterers to serve under.
Then R and I did our cooking for dinner that night. Rehersal was at the house of course and family would be there for dinner, 17 in all. Now I haven't cooked for that many in quite a few years and kept second guessing how much to fix. I fixed 2 sheet cakes as I was unsure who would eat dessert etc..
Oh and how about a taste test results..I made a yellow BC cake with Chocolate icing and a Devils Food (Plsbry) cake with white icing. The Devils food cake was dry, dry, dry. I will never buy Plsbry cake mix again!!! Just thought I would pass that on to you.
Everyone got there about 6:30, we ate first to appease the crowds and then started rehersal. It was too funny! I LMAO.. I think the preacher was getting rather nervous at all the families antics and wondering 1) what had he gotten himself into and 2) where we going to act that way tomorrow?? We ran thru our paces twice, the preacher said we had it down, (that or he just wanted to leave), and we visited and joked till about 10:30. Good times where had by all!
Tomorrow – Wedding Day!

Weekend Celebrations
We couldn't have asked for better weather for the weekend. Hurrican Frances out there threatening my friends in Florida and we had sunshine, 75 and a cool breeze. Family came in all on Thursday, most arriving late but not to late to have a few laughs! Friday was great, Sat was great, Sunday was great, Monday was great!.. We had a weekend long celeberation and that is just what I had hoped for. All families met for the first time and got along swimmingly. I am going to post pictures and more tales, but for today will update Thursday.
T & R where flying in from Big D to Raleigh. They had a great flight, arriving 20 minutes early actually and drove over from the airport. J and I went to get my son E at the Greensboro airport. He was late as his flight out of Austin was delayed, AND his connecting flight out of Atlanta.
Now, my step mom T (being the little proper southern lady that she is) has everyone watching their language. So after a brief reprisal in the car after picking up E, E, J and I decided we better use up our weekend allotment of the F word before we got home. So for no reason at all we F'd this and F'd that. we had each other in stitches. No don't get me wrong, we don't use the F word that much, but it was just knowing we had to watch our P's and Q's in front of T...
So we got home, everyone arrived safely, gave all a brief tour of the house, then off to bed we went to start a Friday......
more to come....

Shhh, Don't tell anyone I am here!
LOL
I say that cause I haven't been here in a while and wouldn't want to break this spell I have going!
Seriously, things have been so hectic with work and getting ready for the wedding. I haven't had time to read my sister or my son much less check in on the strip joint. WOW what gives with that. Now I am having to be creative and write my own vows.
How is
I like you
You like me
OK!??!
LOL just joking.
My work gave us a shower and his work gave us a shower.. so we are all clean now. ha ha
In actuality they where very nice and un-expected.This week I have something to do every day at lunch and every evening but I will soon get back to the blog more faithfully. Besides I have part 2 of my story about the homeless man and the woman in the yellow tobagan in my head and I have to get it out. Yeahm it hurts in there!
My sister J from A in G will be here tomorrow, YEA! and my son and rest of fam will be here late Thursday night. My sister J from A in G is making the music happen... mucho grasso to her!
My son is walking me down the aisle, mucho grasso to him!
And I am trying hard as hell to stay as far away from tradition that I can!
I have made my flowers, A (R's daughter) made the tablecloths, A and I made the cake topper, (you should see it! We put motorcycles on it!)
All the guy friends are riding their motorcylces to the wedding and we are parking them in the back yard near the festivities.
I am pretty proud of what I have made! Looks pretty damn good if I say so myself! Only thing I have to make is a gauzy drapey thing that goes on the back porch, so if I am going to get that done I best get off my ass!
Later and will post pics!

Meet Lilly's Kids
Yes the pictures below area my sisters kids. I swear she is trying to make he own sports team!!
They are very good kids.
Bobby is rather shy, but particular about his appearance, Meggan was knocked out as my sister has started a donut shop and she got up at 3 AM to help make the donuts. Jennifer LOVES those red boots, don't dare ask her not to wear them! Madyson, even though only a year, knows no strangers! Scarlett likes to color and chew gum.
Due to the miles apart I don't get to see these kids often enough. Some this was the first time in seeing...
Ahhhh family!

Happenin's
Been a while since posting! I have been super busy getting ready for the upcoming events and all, but I have to post 2 more things about my Texas Trip.
This being one of the 2. The other the pics of my sisters family...but those later.
Out in the middle of nowhere, amongst the mesquite trees and dirt, we happened upon this Temple. The red pointed roof poking up to the sky, and it looked so out of place. Of course me and my photographer mind I wanted to get closer so we decided to see if we could get some good pics at the gate. We arrived at the gate and it was open, clearly a sign, and we entered. They had an office and I went in to see if they minded if I took pictures. The office was open, but no one inside. So we ambled towards the temple, hoping to get a shot or 2 before some one yelled at us or chased us off the place. A lady came up and introduced herself, Her name was Vai, she was very friendly and asked us if we wanted to go inside. OMG! YES!!
She gave us a brief history of the place. It has been there 20 years. There are 14 (15) monks who live there and have never been off the property. The community outside is Laotian, Thai and Veitamese. They share in taking care of the monks. The temple started out being a trailer, and they built the building in the pictures you see by hand.
I can't explain the beauty of this place, the artwork and detail is exquisite! I posted 2 of the the artwork inside. It is all hand done and the temple is covered from floor to 20 ft ceiling with these murals. It also houses the largest Budda in North America.
Downstairs the communities children where learning their culture and respect for their elders. One little boy came up to me, he was all curious about us, as us wuth them. She spoke to him in their native tongue, he looked at me, bowed and said hello. WOW..
After our tour Vai invited us back anytime for 6 PM prayers or to come at their New Year celebration (in April). In this day and age of hate, terrorism, etc, they where so open and friendly. Outside the temple when we came out where 2 kids bikes and it seemed such a contrast of old and new. I posted that pic. Also 2 of the monks where working in the yard, one spotting the other who was driving a roller, both monks in their robes. Both monks oblivious to us. They also have a website www.watkeller.com
This was totally awesome and probably my favorite part of the trip. I will go back there and attend prayers.
Vai invited us to come back anytime. I will visit there again and encourage anyone else to go too.
